The paper presents studies showing the effectiveness of the use of wire with SiCa filler in the out-of-furnace processing of steels. The efficiency of use was evaluated by calculating the contamination with non-metallic inclusions, as well as by determining the phase composition of non-metallic inclusions at the stages of out-of-furnace processing and casting. (installation bucket furnace→vacuum cleaner→continuous casting). The study found that the adjustment of the content of aluminum before casting leads to the formation of refractory inclusions of corundum - (AlO), spinels - (AlO·MgO), which are deposited on the walls of the steel filling path and worsen the spillability of steel. The use of SK30prov with SiCa filler at the final stages of extra-furnace processing (after the introduction of aluminum), leads to the modification of refractory inclusions in low-melting calcium aluminates of the type (CaO·AlO). The presence of low-melting inclusions is more preferable, since this type of inclusions is not deposited on the walls of the filling cup and does not have a negative effect on the contamination of the continuously cast billet and products obtained from them with inclusions.

To improve the service life of hot forging die, the additive manufacturing algorithm and additive manufacturing device for die remanufacturing are developed. Firstly, a compound filling algorithm in which the inner zone is filled by linear scanning and the outer contour is filled by offsetting is developed in order to solve the problems encountered in filling path planning for wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) like staircase effect at marginal division, degenerated edge at outer contour, programming difficulty, and so forth. Meanwhile, the attitude control algorithm of welding gun is proposed to control the angle between welding gun and welding path so as to improve the welding forming quality. Secondly, the high-temperature and low-temperature wear resistances of Fe-based and Ni-based alloy are tested. The results show that Ni-based alloy has higher high-temperature wear resistance. Finally, a disabled crankshaft hot forging die is selected for application test and the results show that, using the techniques discussed in this paper, welding materials can be saved by more than 50% and machining cost can be saved by more than 60%. In addition, the surface of automatic-repaired die is smooth without oxidation, collapse, and other defects after forging 3000 times, which is much better than that of manual-repaired die.

Wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is a promising technology for manufacturing large-sized metal components. However, the material shortage region (MSR) at the edge of each slicing layer can influence the forming precision and surface flatness of components. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a shape follow-up edge cycle compensation (SECC) method and model for predicting the weld width and weld height to improve the efficiency of the WAAM process. First, the prediction model was used to determine the weld width and weld height for various welding parameters. The predicted width was then used to obtain the optimal overlap distance, and the filling path of each layer was generated. The same weld height was used for slicing of the 3D model and the tool path compensation cycle was generated. Second, the influence of the MSR on the morphology of multi-layer multi-bead (MLMB) components was analyzed. The MSR results in a height difference between the edge height and the middle height of every deposited layer, and the height difference increases as more layers are added and the height of the component increases. Furthermore, the influence of the MSR gradually extends from the edge to the middle, such that the upper surface presents a parabolic shape. Finally, a mathematical model was established to determine the height difference based on the area of the MSR. When the height difference reaches the weld height, an edge compensation weld is added to eliminate the height difference. Our experimental results show that the proposed forming control strategy improves forming precision and surface flatness. The method is highly feasible and can be applied to a wide range of WAAM applications.

For computing the stress and strain of embankment dams, FEM is employed. Two reservoir filling paths which are constructing filling and completed filling are considered to affect the computing results. It is proved that constructing filling path can enhance the stress of embankment dams. So constructing filling path can take from the hydraulic fracturing of core wall. In addition, constructing filling path can decrease the amount of settlement, and can control the displacement of dam shoulders. In a word, constructing filling path is prior to completed filling path.

According to the Rapid Prototyping for uniform thickness of thin-wall parts forming, the paper uses the filling method that is mixed the parallel lines with contour trajectory offset lines, based on the both of filling methods that conducted a research on the algorithm and derivation of mathematics, gets the mathematical expression of the both filling track line. The algorithm for Rapid Prototyping system which can achieved software optimization provided a mathematical foundation.

According to consistant thickness of thin-wall kind parts in the paper, based on that is used to two fill paths which are the parallel lines and contour trajectory offset lines to mixed filling of Z direction, and ObjectARX2002 is the second developing tool of AutoCAD2002 which can work out software on VC++6.0. The final software can simulate two filling path, and calculating the length of filling path. And then analyze the efficiency that obtain the conclusion when the new type filling method is used to forming consistant thickness of thin-wall kind parts.The conclusion that the new type filling method can improve the efficiency of Rapid Prototyping in a large extent, and it has a largely practical application value in Rapid Prototyping Technology.

This document investigates two kinds of generation algorithm of filling path, namely the subarea parallel reciprocating scan and the contour parallel scan, and proposes a kind of generation algorithm of subarea scanning vector. In the process of the generation of scanning vector, this algorithm has no need to perform area judgment to every scanning vector, and promotes the algorithm efficiency. Meanwhile, the connecting path between scanning areas was optimized, thus reducing the empty run, increasing the machining efficiency, and further improving the forming quality of the inside of metal parts.
