PurposeDrawing on institution embeddedness and the resource-based view, the authors develop a theoretical framework and empirically examine how intra-national innovation ecosystems and environmental institutions impact logistics service providers' (LSPs) technological innovation (TI) and green practices.Design/methodology/approachThe authors test the theoretical framework based on survey data of 328 Chinese LSPs. Archival datasets complement the survey data.FindingsThe research reveals that intra-national institutional forces of formal and informal environment-related institutions can mitigate LSPs' reliance on their firm-specific advantages when engaging in TI and green practices. Results from a three-way interaction indicate that intra-national innovation ecosystems positively moderate the effects of environmental institutions.Research limitations/implicationsThe research has three critical implications. First, the study reveals the contingency role of intra-national environment-related institutions and innovation ecosystems in shaping green logistics. Second, the study finds new results about the roles of informal environmental institutions. Finally, intra-national innovation ecosystems can override environmental institutions in influencing the green practices of LSPs.Originality/valueTaking a unique angle of institution embeddedness coupled with the resource-based view, the authors examined how intra-national ecosystems and environmental institutions impact LSPs' TI and green practices.

PurposeCustomers' focus increasingly turns to the green practices of firms. Organizations need to rethink their strategies and position themselves concerning their environmental responsibility. The idea behind this study is to observe the influence of hotel website quality and hotel environmental management initiative (HEMI) on green customer loyalty in the Pakistan hotel industry with the mediating role of green trust (GT) and green satisfaction (GS).Design/methodology/approachThe study is quantitative, and partial least squares structural equation modelling followed to test the proposed hypotheses. A total of 542 questionnaires were used for analysis through SPSS 25.0 and SmartPLS 3.2.9.FindingsThe findings confirm the proposed positive influence of hotel website quality and HEMI on green customer loyalty. Moreover, GT and GS significantly mediate the relationship, further enhancing the relevance of green practices for hotels.Practical implicationsHotel management can get maximum customer loyalty to concentrate on hotel website quality, HEMI, GT and GS.Originality/valueThis study aims to develop a research model to incorporate hotel website quality, HEMI, GT, GS and green customer loyalty by using signalling theory and natural resource-based view theory that prior studies ignored.

Industry Revolution (IR) 4.0 is revolutionizing the information infrastructure and the systems in supply chain management. However, the employment of the new technology is not sufficient to impact Supply Chain Management Performance (SCMP). Organizations need to build capabilities like integration both Upstream (UI) and Downstream (DI) for the technology to increase SCMP. The Green Practices (GP) are also becoming part of global corporate culture as all stakeholders demand sustainability in the value chain. The study tests IR 4.0, UI, DI, and GP to understand its impact and relationship with SCMP. For the statistical testing conducts on primary data collected from Malaysian firms. AMOS structural equation model is used to test the model and infer the results. The test concludes that IR 4.0 along with UI, DI, and GP impacts SCMP positively.

PurposeThe current study investigates the effect of industry 4.0 on green practices, including green manufacturing and green logistics, in the context of emerging economies.Design/methodology/approachA cross-sectional data were collected from 234 manufacturing firms in Pakistan, and PLS-SEM was employed to test hypotheses.FindingsWith the advent of industry 4.0 in the current era, more emphasis is being given to the adoption of digital technologies in every field. The adoption of the green approach in supply chain management provides firms with socioeconomic and environmental benefits. The study results indicate that industry 4.0 positively affects green practices, including green manufacturing and green logistics. Moreover, the results also illustrate that these green practices have a substantial effect on the sustainability performance of the firms.Research limitations/implicationsThis study provides an amplified understanding of the industry 4.0 technologies in the adoption of green practices. The outcomes also offer a policy framework for managers, legislators and manufacturers to promote green practices (i.e. green manufacturing and green logistics) in businesses.Originality/valueAlthough several recent studies have tried to investigate the effect of green practices on sustainability performance. However, as per the author's best knowledge, very few studies have analyzed the influence of industry 4.0 on green practices (i.e. green manufacturing and green logistics) in the context of emerging economies.

Abstract The main purpose of the study is to assess the development and implementation of GHRM policies and identify prospects for the dissemination of GHRM practices in Ukraine. The results of the survey confirmed the working hypotheses: the practice of developing GHRM policies in Ukraine has not become widespread and there are no effective mechanisms for implementing GHRM policies. The research showed the average level of respondents’ assessment of their awareness of GHRM practices. The study confirmed a lack of effective mechanisms and tools for their implementation: units and employees responsible for implementing the GHRM policy; regulation of tasks, duties and responsibilities of employees; practices of planning the number of employees required for the implementation of environmental initiatives and activities; development of green competencies; informing employees about the GHRM policies implementation; involvement of employees in the formation of green policies and solving ecological problems; survey of employees’ opinion on corporate green practices. The paper focuses on the necessity of disseminating the practices of developing and implementing GHRM policies, it is crucial to raise the awareness of managers and HR specialists.
