Objectives : After investigation of types, characteristics, and domestic and overseas installation cases of floating photovoltaic power plants (FPVs), both power generation capacity and coverage ratio of the FPVs were analyzed, and the major environmental issues impacting on water quality and aquatic ecosystem were reviewed.Methods : Both information and data of the FPVs extracted from existing literature and provided by the FPVs installation companies were statistically analyzed.Results and Discussion : FPVs divided into three types such as pontoon type, frame type, and solar tracking type are installed in various ways by country and region. As of the second half of 2018, the global power generation capacity of FPVs is 1.3 GWp, and FPVs have been intensively installed in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and UK. While the pontoon type has been mainly installed in other countries except Korea, the frame type was mainly installed in Korea. Among various water resources, FPVs installed in agricultural water resources have various power generation capacity and coverage ratio whereas FPVs installed in industrial, rainwater storage, and other water resources have relatively high power generation capacity and coverage ratio. Compared to FPVs installed in other water resources, FPVs installed in drinking water resources have relatively low power generation capacity and coverage ratio. After reviewing the major environmental issues related to FPVs (i.e., leaching of hazardous substances, deterioration of water quality and aquatic ecosystem, changes in water temperature and illumination, and disturbance of aquatic ecosystem), the impacts of the FPVs on water environment are found to be insignificant, and the positive effects (i.e., mitigation of green tide and restoration of the aquatic ecosystem) are confirmed.Conclusions : Although the impacts of the FPVs on water environment (water quality and aquatic ecosystem) are found to be insignificant, additional experiments reflecting extreme conditions and long-term continuous monitoring of water quality and aquatic ecosystem in terms of coverage ratio, array and type of FPVs are required.

In TDM PONs, or simply PONs, the transmission capacity of optical fibers remains under-utilized with single-wavelength transmissions for both upstream and downstream traffic. Use of WDM transmission in PONs can significantly enhance the overall network capacity and coverage area. WDM transmission in PONs can be realized in several ways, such as by using WDM exclusively or combining WDM with TDM, leading to WDM PONs and TDM-WDM PONs (TWDM PONs). This chapter gives several candidate physical configurations to realize WDM and TWDM PONs, and describes some useful dynamic wavelength-bandwidth allocation (DWBA) schemes for the latter. We also briefly discuss the needs of open access to the PON-based access networks for the various stakeholders, such as service providers and network providers. Finally, we describe briefly the roles of optical networking in the access segment of mobile networks. (135 words)

<div>This paper presents a two-tier cellular structure with femtocells in open access mode. The addition of these base stations extends the offered system capacity and coverage area of the network. This two network parameters nowadays becomes rather important to provide Quality of Service (QoS) for data-hungry applications. Femto base stations (FBS) are deployed randomly to extend the coverage of conventional base stations. Since the femtocells are operating here in open access mode, so that the handover probability parameter becomes important concern. In this article, we declare the handover probability using the fundamentals of stochastic geometry.</div>

Planning to improve the signal condition of cellular telephone networks in a company is very important. PT. Artisan Wahyu is a company engaged in property and real estate. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality and strength of the signal beam at the Gandaria 8 Office Tower using the G-net Track Lite application, to determine the number of indoor omnidirectional antennas based on capacity planning method, and for determining the number of omnidirectional indoor antennas based on coverage planning method. The research method used is quantitative method with a descriptive type of research. By using the analysis method of Capacity Planning and Coverage Planning. Therefore, it is necessary to plan an omnidirectional indoor antenna analysis so that activities in communication can be enjoyed properly. From the results of the research conducted, there were four plans for omnidirectional indoor antenna networks for the 2nd floor based on capacity and coverage of 6 antennas. Whereas for the 22nd floor based on capacity as much as 3 and for coverage as many as five antennas so that the Coverage Planning method is recommended to be applied to the Gandaria Building 8 Office Tower. (FF, FA, RM).
