We construct integrable PT-symmetric nonlocal reductions for an integrable hierarchy associated with the special orthogonal Lie algebra so ⁡ ( 3 , R ) \operatorname {so}(3,\mathbb {R}) . The resulting typical nonlocal integrable equations are integrable PT-symmetric nonlocal reverse-space, reverse-time and reverse-spacetime nonlinear Schrödinger equations associated with so ⁡ ( 3 , R ) \operatorname {so}(3,\mathbb {R}) .

Starting from a more generalized discrete [Formula: see text] matrix spectral problem and using the Tu scheme, some integrable lattice hierarchies (ILHs) are presented which include the well-known relativistic Toda lattice hierarchy and some new three-field ILHs. Taking one of the hierarchies as example, the corresponding Hamiltonian structure is constructed and the Liouville integrability is illustrated. For the first nontrivial lattice equation in the hierarchy, the [Formula: see text]-fold Darboux transformation (DT) of the system is established basing on its Lax pair. By using the obtained DT, we generate the discrete [Formula: see text]-soliton solutions in determinant form and plot their figures with proper parameters, from which we get some interesting soliton structures such as kink and anti-bell-shaped two-soliton, kink and anti-kink-shaped two-soliton and so on. These soliton solutions are much stable during the propagation, the solitary waves pass through without change of shapes, amplitudes, wave-lengths and directions. Finally, we derive infinitely many conservation laws of the system and give the corresponding conserved density and associated flux formulaically.

We construct integrable PT-symmetric nonlocal reductions for an integrable hierarchy associated with the special orthogonal Lie algebra so(3,R). The resulting typical nonlocal integrable equations are integrable PT-symmetric nonlocal complex reverse-spacetime and real reverse-spacetime modified Korteweg-de Vries equations associated with so(3,R).

We use example of the Davey-Stewartson hierarchy to show that in addition to the standard equations given by Lax operator and evolutions of times with positive numbers, one can consider time evolutions with negative numbers and the same Lax operator. We derive corresponding Lax pairs and integrable equations.

In this article, we adopt two kinds of loop algebras corresponding to the Lie algebra B(0,1) to introduce two line spectral problems with different numbers of even and odd superfunctions. Through generalizing the time evolution λt to a polynomial of λ, two isospectral-nonisospectral super integrable hierarchies are derived in terms of Tu scheme and zero-curvature equation. Among them, the first super integrable hierarchy is further reduced to generalized Fokker–Plank equation and special bond pricing equation, as well as an explicit super integrable system under the choice of specific parameters. More specifically, a super integrable coupled equation is derived and the corresponding integrable properties are discussed, including the Lie point symmetries and one-parameter Lie symmetry groups as well as group-invariant solutions associated with characteristic equation.

Many integrable hierarchies of differential equations allow a variational description, called a Lagrangian multiform or a pluri-Lagrangian structure. The fundamental object in this theory is not a Lagrange function but a differential $d$-form that is integrated over arbitrary $d$-dimensional submanifolds. All such action integrals must be stationary for a field to be a solution to the pluri-Lagrangian problem. In this paper we present a procedure to obtain Hamiltonian structures from the pluri-Lagrangian formulation of an integrable hierarchy of PDEs. As a prelude, we review a similar procedure for integrable ODEs. We show that exterior derivative of the Lagrangian $d$-form is closely related to the Poisson brackets between the corresponding Hamilton functions. In the ODE (Lagrangian 1-form) case we discuss as examples the Toda hierarchy and the Kepler problem. As examples for the PDE (Lagrangian 2-form) case we present the potential and Schwarzian Korteweg-de Vries hierarchies, as well as the Boussinesq hierarchy.

AbstractWe classify all integrable triples in simple Lie algebras, up to equivalence. The importance of this problem stems from the fact that for each such equivalence class one can construct the corresponding integrable hierarchy of bi-Hamiltonian PDE. The simplest integrable triple (f, 0, e) in $${\mathfrak {sl}}_2$$ sl 2 corresponds to the KdV hierarchy, and the triple $$(f,0,e_\theta )$$ ( f , 0 , e θ ) , where f is the sum of negative simple root vectors and $$e_\theta $$ e θ is the highest root vector of a simple Lie algebra, corresponds to the Drinfeld–Sokolov hierarchy.

In this paper, we first introduce a nonisospectral problem associate with a loop algebra. Based on the nonisospectral problem, we deduce a nonisospectral integrable hierarchy by solving a nonisospectral zero curvature equation. It follows that the standard AKNS hierarchy and KN hierarchy are obtained by reducing the resulting nonisospectral hierarchy. Then, the Hamiltonian system of the resulting nonisospectral hierarchy is investigated based on the trace identity. Additionally, an extended integrable system of the resulting nonisospectral hierarchy is worked out based on an expanded higher-dimensional Loop algebra.

AbstractWe prove that all classical affine W-algebras 𝒲(𝔤; f), where g is a simple Lie algebra and f is its non-zero nilpotent element, admit an integrable hierarchy of bi-Hamiltonian PDEs, except possibly for one nilpotent conjugacy class in G2, one in F4, and five in E8.

Abstract The Hodge-FVH correspondence establishes a relationship between the special cubic Hodge integrals and an integrable hierarchy, which is called the fractional Volterra hierarchy. In this paper we prove this correspondence. As an application of this result, we prove a gap condition for certain special cubic Hodge integrals and give an algorithm for computing the coefficients that appear in the gap condition.
