One of the most significant events in the development history of the Kola North is discovery of apatite ores by expeditions led by Academician A. E. Fersman. The article describes the Fersman’s short walk to Maly Mannepakhk mountainin June1920 and the first expedition to the Khibiny in August-September of 1920.

The overprediction and underprediction of fear, pain, and other constructs have been linked with etiology and maintenance of anxiety disorders. We aimed to extend this research to depression by investigating the overprediction of effort and the underprediction of reward and enjoyment associated with a simple task. Participants with depression (n = 20) and a control group (n = 40) predicted how much effort and reward/enjoyment would be experienced during a short walk around the university. Post-walk, participants reported the actual effort required and the actual experienced reward and enjoyment. Compared to the control group, who demonstrated accurate predictions, depressed individuals significantly overpredicted the required effort associated with the walk even though there were no between-group differences in actual effort required. There was no evidence to suggest that the depressed group underestimated or were inaccurate in their predictions of walk-related reward and enjoyment relative to the control group. Implications for cognitive and behavioral approaches to depression are discussed.

Walking is inherently a human activity, and has been related to many benefits including health, social, economy, and transportation, but there are still gaps from the western dominated literature to the  local context of Indonesia. This research aims to understand the parameters of walkability from a short walk by people preferences from its origin focusing in a selected neighborhood of Kemiling Sub District in Bandar Lampung city. Data collection consists of building a basis of walkability parameters from literature of walking and walkability  and identifying the local walkability parameters by synchronizing the data based on in  depth adult interviews. Comparing the literature analysis resulted to five possible categories of barriers in the neighborhood: feasibility, destination, safety, comfort, and design quality. In the case of Bandar Lampung, locals probably perceived walking as more casual affairs with no expectation to the quality of their environment while accepting comfort as the most important barriers rather than safety.

This is a personal survey of aspects of quantum probability related to the Heisenberg commutation relation for canonical pairs. Using the failure, in general, of non-negativity of the Wigner distribution for canonical pairs to motivate a more satisfactory quantum notion of joint distribution, we visit a central limit theorem for such pairs and a resulting family of quantum planar Brownian motions which deform the classical planar Brownian motion, together with a corresponding family of quantum stochastic areas. This article is part of the themed issue ‘Hilbert’s sixth problem’.
