Herschel Planetary Nebula Survey Plus (HerPlaNS+)

We present the current status update of the Herschel Planetary Nebula Survey Plus project (HerPlaNS+) based on the original General Observer HerPlaNS survey program during the OT1 cycle and the follow-up exhaustive archival search of PN observations using the PACS and SPIRE instruments on-board the Herschel Space Observatory.

Invariance in growth and mass transport

The equations of balance of a continuum under conditions of growth and mass diffusion are derived from a principle of invariance under general observer transformations. The resulting equations are invariant under inertial transformations. Apparent body forces stemming from the mass transport phenomenon are identified and shown to be associated with non-inertial observers.

On Performance Analysis of General Observers for Uncertain Systems

This paper aims to rigorously study the observer for general uncertain systems. The proposed observer is shown to be the general form of extended state observer (ESO), disturbance observer (DO), generalized extended state observer (GESO) and extended high gain observer (EHGO). The properties of this general observer is discussed by analyzing the estimation error. The paper illustrates that the output of the proposed general observers may not performs as the estimation the real state and uncertainty. We prove that this observer gives the estimations for the group of states and uncertainties whose exact form is given in the paper. Finally, numerical simulations for a typical example validate the theoretical analysis.
