Про стійкість положення рівноваги твердого тіла багатошаровою ідеальною рідиною, розділеною пружними пластинами

УДК 531.36:531.38:533.6.013.42 Узагальнено задачу Л. М. Стрітенського і задачу про коливання фізичного маятника на випадок багатошарової ідеальної рідини, розділеної пружними пластинами. З додатної визначеності потенціальної енергії (задача Л. М. Стрітенського) і зміненої потенціальної енергії (фізичний маятник) отримано умови стійкості положення рівноваги. Більш детальні дослідження проведено для циліндричної порожнини довільного поперечного перерізу.Показано, що в задачі Л. М. Стрітенського для стійкості положення рівноваги необхідно і достатньо, щоб було стійке положення рівноваги пружних пластин і рідини в нерухомому твердому тілі, і достатньо, щоб більш важка рідина знаходилась нижче менш важкої. В задачі про коливання фізичного маятника для стійкості положення рівноваги також необхідно, щоб було стійке положення рівноваги пружних пластин і рідини в нерухомому твердому тілі. Показано, що за допомогою попереднього натягу пластин можливо стабілізувати нестійке положення рівноваги фізичного маятника.

Distributions of zeros and poles of -point Padé approximants to complex-symmetric functions defined at complex points

UDC 517.5 The knowledge of the location of zeros and poles Padé and -point Padé approximations to a given function provides much valuable information about the function being studied.In general PAs reproduce the exact zeros and poles of considered function, but, unfortunately, some spurious zeros and poles appear randomly.Then, it is clear that the control of the position of poles and zeros becomes essential for applications of Padé approximation method.The numerical examples included in the paper show how necessary for the convergence of PA is the knowledge of the position of their zeros and poles.We relate our research of localization of poles and zeros of PA and NPA in the case of Stieltjes functions because we are interested in the efficiency of numerical application of these approximations. These functions belong to the class of complex-symmetric functions.The PA and NPA to the Stieltjes functions in different regions of the complex plane is also analyzed. It is expected that the appropriate selection of the complex point for the definition of approximant can improve it with respect to the traditional choice of All considered cases are graphically illustrated.Some unique numerical results presented in the paper, which are sufficiently regular should motivate the reader to reflect on them.

On application of slowly varying functions with remainder in the theory of Markov branching processes with mean one and infinite variance

UDC 519.218.2 We investigate an application of slowly varying functions (in sense of Karamata) in the theory of Markov branching processes. We treat the critical case so that the infinitesimal generating function of the process has the infinite second moment, but it regularly varies with the remainder. We improve the basic lemma of the theory of critical Markov branching processes and refine known limit results.

Some new bounds оf Gauss – Jacobi аnd Hermite – Hadamard type integral inequalities

UDC 517.5 In this paper, authors discover two interesting identities regarding Gauss–Jacobi and Hermite–Hadamard type integral inequalities. By using the first lemma as an auxiliary result, some new bounds with respect to Gauss–Jacobi type integral inequalities are established. Also, using the second lemma, some new estimates with respect to Hermite–Hadamard type integral inequalities via general fractional integrals are obtained. It is pointed out that some new special cases can be deduced from main results. Some applications to special means for different positive real numbers and new error estimates for the trapezoidal are provided as well. These results give us the generalizations, refinement and significant improvements of the new and previous known results. The ideas and techniques of this paper may stimulate further research.

New characterizations for differences of composition operators between weighted-type spaces in the unit ball

In this paper, we present some asymptotically equivalent expressions to the essential norm of differences of composition operators acting on weighted-type spaces of holomorphic functions in the unit ball of . Especially, the descriptions in terms of are described. From which the sufficient and necessary conditions of compactness follows immediately. Also, we characterize the boundedness of these operators.
