The condylar process is a more fragile area, which is usually fractured by indirect trauma. The objective of this study is to report the case of a 10-year-old patient who presented to the Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology Service of the Regional Hospital of Vale do Paraíba, in Taubaté-SP, Brazil. Physical examination revealed limited mandibular movement with painful symptoms, crossbite, and upper incisor avulsion. A face tomography showed a fracture of the mandibular symphysis (right side) and a fracture of the left condyle. Surgical reduction of the mandibular symphysis fracture was performed. After exposure and reduction of bone segments, maxillomandibular block, rigid internal fixation and conservative treatment for condyle fracture were performed. A soft liquid diet and weekly outpatient follow-up was adopted for the first two months. After 15 days of surgery, the patient had mild edema, slight limitation in mouth opening, sutures without dehiscence and without signs of infection. In the first control tomography, the treated fracture was adequately reduced and the fractured condyle remained with medial displacement in the glenoid cavity. After one year, on physical examination, the patient presented satisfactory dental occlusion, preserved mandibular movements and no signs of nerve damage. The tomography showed the fracture consolidated, and the left mandibular condyle well positioned in the glenoid cavity. After two years, the third tomography was performed, showing remodelling of the left mandibular condyle.

Proposition: To evaluate the physical properties of flow and solubility of pure and improved mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) cement with the addition of two plasticizing agents: sodium ether polycarboxylate and sodium naphthalene sulfonate at three different concentrations. Material and Methods: Flow and solubility tests were carried out using the established methodology recommended by the 57 ANSI/ADA and ISO 6876:2012 standards. Pure MTA was used as control group and was compared to the MTA containing sodium ether polycarboxylate and sodium naphthalene sulfonate at concentrations of 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5%. Data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance followed by a post-hoc Tukey test at a 5% significance level. Results: Sodium ether polycarboxylate increased the MTA flow at the three concentrations. The flow increased with increasing concentration (P<0.05). Sodium sulfonate naphthalene also facilitated flow, though it was inferior to sodium ether polycarboxylate. Sodium naphthalene sulfonate promoted a significant increase in the solubility of MTA (p=0.000). Conclusions: The additives improved the physical properties of MTA. Sodium ether polycarboxylate was found to be superior to sodium naphthalene sulfonate at all concentrations.

Impaction of Maxillary Permanent incisor due to super numrary tooth is not a common entity encountered in dental practice but when present, it poses a disturbing esthetic dilemma to children and their parents. Early diagnosis and interception in these cases is the best way for their management. The purpose of this report is to describe the diagnosis and the clinical management of an impacted supernumerary tooth, which impeded the eruption of the permanent maxillary central incisor.

Oral mucosal lesions are a broad group of lesions which are located in the soft tissues of the oral cavity identified by its specific etiology, clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis and treatment. White lesions of the oral cavity constitute a rather common group of lesions that are encountered during routine clinical dental practice. The process of clinical diagnosis and treatment planning is of great concern to the patient as it determines the prognosis. There should be in-depth knowledge to the consultant about the varied clinical features, etiology of the disease and various treatment plans. Clinical diagnostic skills and ideal judgment forms the key to successful management of white lesions of the oral cavity This review will discuss many of the most common intraoral white lesions including their clinical presentation, how to make an accurate diagnosis
