The Pt-loaded g-C3N4 demonstrated high visible-light photoactivity of CO2 reduction to CH4, which was attributed to the efficient interfacial electron transfer from g-C3N4 to Pt.

A heterostructured host composed of porous g-C3N4 and N-doped graphene was fabricated by a template-free strategy. The hybrid display excellent cyclability and high coulombic efficiency due to the enhanced polysulfide anchoring-conversion capability.

The photoinduced electrons jump more easily to the conduction band of g-C3N4 for the Fe impurity band locates above the valence band acting a bridge for electron transfer.
