Small hydropower station, when producing power energy to power system through the distribution network, may lead to the change of the detected current in relay protection and the protection coverage. In this paper, IEEE7 based network is formed in the platform of PSCAD/EMTDC to analyze the effects of distribution network in current protection when a small hydropower station is linked in. The running of relay protection in Section I and II is simulated to obtain the difference of current variation of network with or without small hydropower station. Also the key parameters are calculated to point out the maximum generation capacity of the small hydropower station in case of reliable and sensitive current protection.

In this passage is about the safety evaluation on the conveyance structure of small hydroelectric power station. Applying Binary comparative indicators to determine the weights and fuzzy recognition model on the conveyance structure of small hydroelectric power station’s assessment. Compared other models with fuzzy recognition model which will be explained in detail in the next section on a specific small hydropower station. The results show that the fuzzy recognition model is feasible and effective on safety evaluation on the conveyance structure of the hydroelectric power station.

Processing the parameters overly simplistic will leave space for overestimating or underestimating artificially when we assess the assets of medium and small hydropower stations using present earning value method. And absolute assumptions often affect the adequacy of the assessment results, also the persuasive and credibility. Monte Carlo simulation can determine the wave of parameters in present earning value method, so as to improve the persuasion and credibility of assessment results and reduce the personnel control.

A distributed network with small hydropower is taken as research subject, and in PSASP environment a simulation network is constructed, which is based on the network’s connection mode and operation data. At first, this paper give a description of 3rd mode of small hydropower generator, and generalize common analysis methods of synthesis load, and on this basis lists three means that used for aggregating parameters, then choose weighted average method to aggregate necessary parameters of Small hydropower generators. Secondly, the operation data is fully used to determine the equivalent impedance of the network. Finally, in order to verify the accuracy and feasibility of the method raised by the paper, the author make a comparison of small hydropower generators’ relative rocking curve before and after equivalence, meanwhile, analyzes change regulation of active power in contact line before and after the equivalence.
