An aircraft cable fault location method based on detection model is proposed to solve the problem of being difficult to inspect the fault for the civil aviation maintenance. In response to the condition of the experimental installation, the reference signal is designed. The fault of the cable can be located according to the reflected waveform. An aircraft cable fault location system is designed and the experimental results show that the method is rational and effective.

Safety fuels such as emulsified and gelled fuels have been studied over the past several years as one means for reducing the post-crash fire hazard associated with aircraft accidents. However, through the work described herein, only recently has a quantitative evaluation been made to characterize the safety performance of these fuels. The safety performance evaluation program described in this paper includes an initial series of screening tests designed to obtain the characteristics of safe fuels in the aircraft crash environment. The authenticity of the screening tests relative to the full-scale crash environment was evaluated through a second series of experiments designed to simulate a full-scale aircraft crash environment. A crashworthiness evaluation criterion was established in terms of an “ignition susceptibility parameter” to quantitize the relative safety performance of different fuels. The conclusions of this research clearly show that significant savings in lives and equipment can be realized if safe fuels which perform within the non-hazardous envelope of the ignition susceptibility parameter are operationally incorporated in present-day aircraft.

Reliable assessment on the environmental impact of aircraft operation is vital for the performance evaluation and sustainable development of civil aviation. A new methodology for calculating the greenhouse effect of aircraft cruise is proposed in this paper. With respect to both cruise strategies and wind factors, a genetic algorithm-optimized wavelet neural network topology is designed to model the fuel flow-rate and developed using the real flight records data. Validation tests demonstrate that the proposed model with preferred network architecture can outperform others investigated in this paper in terms of accuracy and stability. Numerical examples are illustrated using 9 flights from Beijing Capital International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport operated by Boeing 737–800 aircraft on October 2, 2019, and the generated fuel consumption, CO2 and NOx emissions as well as temperature change for different time horizons can be effectively given through the proposed methodology, which helps in the environmental performance evaluation and future trajectory planning for aircraft cruise.
