E-learning – is it all it's made out to be? Does it deliver what it promises? In this article, I hope to convince you that it does? I'll explain why, as Head of Resource Development for the Retail Branch Networks for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, I believe it has proved successful. The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and National Westminster (NW) Branch Networks consist of over 2,300 branches employing approximately 30,000 people throughout the U.K. My team are responsible for the design, development and implementation of training and development for these staff. We consider that in today's climate of accelerated change, high performance depends critically on the extent to which our intellectual capital is built, refreshed and leveraged – why?Our customers expect that, as a minimum, our people are appropriately trained and can handle all their enquiries efficiently and effectively. Competent staff and the delivery of excellent customer service are not an option for the Group, but a necessity if we are to sustain our competitive advantage in the financial market place.

Resumo O presente artigo apresenta um panorama teórico e prático sobre a Universidade Corporativa. Discute-se o papel do e-Learning e das tecnologias da informação no suporte ao processo organizacional das Universidades Corporativas. Para expor estas relações a partir da revisão da literatura, foram avaliados diversos aspectos referentes a Universidade Corporativa numa empresa multinacional para evidenciar seu valor na comunicação, construção do conhecimento e aprendizado organizacional contínuo. A metodologia utilizada baseou-se na pesquisa bibliográfica e na pesquisa documental. Como aspecto conclusivo destaca-se a importância da Universidade Corporativa como catalisadora do capital humano e intelectual, assim como também do aprendizado individual e corporativo.Palavras-chave Universidade Corporativa, e-Learning, Tecnologia da Informação.  Abstract This article presents a theoretical and practical panorama of the Corporate University. It discusses the role of e-Learning and information technology in the support of the organizational process of Corporate Universities. To explicit these relations based on a review of the literature, several aspects were considered in a multinational firm in order to highlight the importance attributed to communication, knowledge construction and continuous organizational learning. The methodology was based on the bibliographical and documentary research. In conclusion, the paper considers the importance of Corporate University as a catalyser of human and intellectual capital, as well as of individual and corporate learning. The aim of this study is to describe of intellectual capital (IC) disclosure on the website of Indonesian university. The intellectual capital was devided to three major component; human capital, structural capital, and relational capital. The component used in this study is the framework was composed by Ulum (2011) which consist of 46 items. The result shows that from 35 university’s website, Airlangga University disclose 55% component of IC. For the major of ‘human capital’, ‘non-academic staff ’ was the most widely expressed by universities. While, for the major of ‘structural capital’, item of ‘infrastucture’ was domonated the disclosure. And, the ‘e-learning’ was a favourite item to disclose by university from ‘relational capital’ major. The result also indicates that the extent of IC disclosure by Indonesian university still limited.

Abstrak :Ketersediaan SDM TIK yang berkualitas serta memenuhi standard kompetensi TIK merupakan tantangan dan permasalahan.  Unsur SDM guru/tenaga kependidikan merupakan pihak yang dipandang paling bertanggungjawab terhadap   keberhasilan implementsi TIK. Sumber daya manusia dan modal intelektual (intellectual capital) merupakan aset yang sangat penting dalam  menciptakan keunggulan bersaing yang langgeng.  Sistem kebijakan publik adalah tatanan kelembagaan yang berperan atau merupakan “wahana” dalam penyelenggaraan sebagian atau keseluruhan “proses kebijakan“ (formulasi, inplementasi dan evaluasi kinerja kebijakan) yang mengakomodasikan kegiatan teknis (Technical Process) maupun sosiopolitis (Sociopolitical Process) Keberhasilan kebijakan dalam implementasi, tentunya tergantung pada komitmen, kesungguhan, ketekunan, teraktualisasi dalam mutu kinerja para pelaksana (SDM) nya.   Kata Kunci: Sistem kebijakan public, Unsur SDM, dan keberhasilan implementasi TIK

Zusammenfassung. Hintergrund: Gesundheitsschädigender Alkoholkonsum ist weltweit der drittgrößte Risikofaktor für verschiedene Krankheiten und führt in der Schweiz zu 1.600 Todesfällen pro Jahr. Durch frühzeitiges Erkennen und präventive Maßnahmen können alkoholbezogene Krankheiten und Todesfälle verringert werden. Pflegefachpersonen nehmen dabei eine entscheidende Rolle ein. Jedoch stellen sich mangelndes Fachwissen, persönliche Einstellungen und Unsicherheiten als hindernde Faktoren dar. Schulungen helfen, diese Hindernisse zu überwinden. Ziel: Das Ziel der Studie war, die Auswirkungen eines E-Learning zum gesundheitsschädigenden Alkoholkonsum auf das Fachwissen, die Einstellung und die Selbsteinschätzung der Kompetenzen von Pflegefachpersonen eines Akutspitals zu untersuchen. Methode: Es wurde eine Prätest-Posttest-Studie durchgeführt. Im Zeitraum von Dezember 2013 bis März 2014 wurden insgesamt 33 diplomierte Pflegefachpersonen vor und nach der Durchführung des E-Learning befragt. Die Befragung erfolgte mithilfe eines literaturbasiert entwickelten Fragebogens. Ergebnisse: Das Fachwissen und die Selbsteinschätzung der Kompetenzen zeigten signifikante Verbesserungen. Eine Veränderung der Einstellung konnte nicht nachgewiesen werden. Schlussfolgerungen: Durch den Wissenszuwachs und die höher eingeschätzten Kompetenzen konnten Unsicherheiten abgebaut und das Vertrauen in die eigenen Fähigkeiten gestärkt werden. Um auch die Entwicklung wertneutraler Einstellungen gegenüber den Betroffenen zu fördern, wird empfohlen, neben dem E-Learning und der Einführung von Richtlinien, Präsenzveranstaltungen mit Möglichkeiten zum Austausch untereinander anzubieten.
