According to the definition of green supply chain management, giving its connotation in detail in low-carbon economy model. Analyzing the enterprise impact on the environment protection and sustainable development, reviewing the implementation of the green supply chain management in developed countries and regions enterprise in low-carbon economy model, studying on how to implement green supply chain management in the enterprise, and proposing our country developing the green supply chain management rapidly. Low-carbon economy requires the use of ecological rules to guide the human society and economic activities. Our country’s enterprise can enhance the benefit unceasingly and can make a greater contribution to our country economic and social development.

In low carbon economy, carbon emissions permit has become a kind of resource; in the market economy system, new economic relations between enterprises have appeared, these characteristics make enterprise operation cost structure and profiting pattern changed. The paper reviews the previous literature on carbon footprint, production optimization theory individual enterprise and supply chain operation management with carbon emissions constraints. Then the paper put forward four worth further research directions: Carbon emission cost distribution and scientific measurement in supply chain; supply chain operation based on consumer behavior in Low Carbon Economy Era; optimizing the allocation of carbon emissions permit in supply chain; Dynamic Multi-period operation optimization of carbon efficient supply chain.

Network optimization design of green supply chains not only decides the structure and value of supply chains themselves, but also has great impact on the healthy, low-carbon development of whole society’s logistics system and transportation system. Based on carbon footprint theory, this paper elaborates the influence of carbon emission on overall value of supply chain. Penalty function coefficient is introduced to covert a multi-objective optimization problem to a single objective one; three objects, namely, profitability, service level and environmental protection, are thus coordinated. A network optimization model is also developed so as to achieve a green, low carbon supply chain, and to balance cost, response time and carbon footprint. An example is offered as proof of this model’s effectiveness, serving as a supplementary solution to optimization design of green supply chain network.
