We first propose an efficient communication optimization algorithm in smart grid. Based on the optimization algorithm, we propose an intrusion detection algorithm to detect malicious data and possible cyberattacks. In this scheme, each node acts independently when it processes communication flows or cybersecurity threats. And neither special hardware nor nodes cooperation is needed. In order to justify the feasibility and the availability of this scheme, a series of experiments have been done. The results show that it is feasible and efficient to detect malicious data and possible cyberattacks with less computation and communication cost.

Nowadays, detection scheme of intrusion is placing a major role for efficient access and analysis in Mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET). In the past, the detection scheme of Intrusion was used to identify the efficiency of the network and in maximum systems it performs with huge rate of false alarm. In this paper, an Effective approach of the Enhanced Replica Detection scheme (ERDS) based on Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT) is proposed to detect the malicious actions and to have a secure path without claim in an efficient manner. Also, provides strategies to avoid attacker and to provide secure communication. In order to have an efficient analysis of intrusion detection the proposed approach is implemented based on the anomaly. To achieve this, the detection scheme is established based on SPRT and demonstrated the performances of detection with less claim. The simulation results of control overhead, packet delivery ratio, efficient detection, energy consumption and average claims are carried out for the analysis of performance to show the improvement than the existing by using the network simulator tool. Also, the performance of the proposed system illustrated the detection of intrusion in the normal and attacker states of the network.

Smart grid is expected to improve the efficiency, reliability and economics of current energy systems. Using two-way flow of electricity and information, smart grid builds an automated, highly distributed energy delivery network. In this thesis, we present the requirements for intrusion detection systems in smart grid, neighborhood area network (NAN) in particular. We propose an intrusion detection system (IDS) that considers the constraints and requirements of the NAN. It captures the communication and computation overhead constraints as well as the lack of a central point to install the IDS. The IDS is distributed on some nodes which are powerful in terms of memory, computation and the degree of connectivity. Our IDS uses an analytical approach for detecting Wormhole attack. We simulate wireless mesh NANs in OPNET Modeler and for the first time, we integrate our analytical model in Maple from MapleSoft with our OPNET simulation model.
