Our study covered the development and evolution of the management accounting system of a subsidiary company in a group. Our study was a longitudinal one starting from the incorporation of the company. We divided this period into five stages according to the major events happened, namely the formation of the company, the invoicing crisis, the conflict with parent company, the conflict with fellow subsidiaries, and the influence of the chief executive. In our analysis we applied the three dimensions of structure in the theory of structuration (i.e., signification, legitimation and domination). The structuration theory explained the emergence of certain phenomena and events that were not explained by traditional accounting theories. Many events in our study validated the core ideas of the structuration theory which composes of the concepts of structure, system and duality of structure. The phenomena suggested that structure was both the medium and outcome of the conduct it recursively organized. Other features of the theory, such as the dialectic of control and system contradiction, were also applicable

Requirements crosscutting in software development and maintenance have gradually become an important issue in software engineering with a growing need of traceability support to better understand the requirements crosscutting processes to comply with industrial standards. However, many recent works focusing on identification, modularization, composition and conflict dissolution of requirements crosscutting are mostly saturated at requirements level. Hence, these works fail to specify crosscutting properties for functional and non-functional requirements at other phases leading to insufficient support for software engineers. Recently, a new approach called the Identification, Modularization, Design Composition Rules and Conflict Dissolutions (IM-DeCRuD) was proposed to provide a special traceability to facilitate better understanding and reasoning towards requirements crosscutting implementation, along with a tool as a proof-of-concept. In this paper, the tool was evaluated and the results were verified by some experts in the industries. The feedbacks on applicability aspect were then gathered and analyzed using DESMET qualitative method. The outcome showed that the IM-DeCRuD was applicable to cope with the tedious engineering processes in handling crosscutting properties at requirements, analysis and design phases for system development and evolution.

TEM characterization and microanalysis of the recording media is crucial and complementary to new material system development as well as quality control applications. Due to the type of material generally used for supporting the medium, i.e., a polymer, conventional macro- and microthinning procedures for thin foil preparation are not applicable. Ultramicrotorny (UM) is a viable option and has been employed in previous similar studies. In this work UM has been used for preparation of XTEM samples from a magneto-optical (MO) recording medium in its original production format.The as-received material system consisted of a 4-layer, 2100 Å thick medium including a 300 Å TbFeCo layer enveloped by silicon nitride protective layers supported on a 1.2 mm thick × 135 mm (5.25 in.) diameter polycarbonate disk. Recording tracks had an approximate pitch of 1.6 μm separated by 800 Å deep peripheral grooves. Using a Buehler Isomet low-speed diamond saw, 1 mm wide and 20 mm long strips were cut out of the disk along the recording tracks.
