The paper introduces the development status of smart home platform based-on Android system and advantages of Smart home security system first. As to the families internal application environment,a low-cost,easy to expand, smart home security system for home applications based on the Android platform is designed through the analysis and research of smart home security system. It Shows the basic module structures of the software according to the design scheme, and each module performs the specific implementation.

home automation or smart home industry has been grown rapidly over the last few years and also it will ne continued in future due to its various benefits and demand in the market. In this paper a hardware of home automation system is presented that is inexpensive than available similar products in the market. The home automation system is developed that consisting of ultrasonic sensors, Arduino UNO, relay coil and connects controlled devices to a central hub or “gateway”. It is efficient in operation, reduces the energy in operation and reduces the energy utilization with less maintenance cost.

In the new trend of informatization and networking in development of household equipments, this paper designs a smart home security system based on Zigbee wireless sensor network technology and Internet technology. The smart home security system contains smart access control system, smart door and window burglarproof system, gas leakage detection, people positioning, remote video monitoring and database system development. The system takes the advantages of low power, low cost, distributed and self-organized owned by the wireless sensor network to improve flexibility and reliability of the security system. In addition, this paper also designs complete graphic user interfaces for upper computer server and client which are more user-friendly to do local and remote monitoring.
