The article deals with the issues of improving the quality of highly watered well production fluid processing using chemical demulsifier reactants at crude oil processing facilities; the analysis of the use of the reactants at the Samotlor field has been made. The article presents the results of the study of the effectiveness of the "Hercules 2202 grade A" and "SNPH-4460-2" demulsifiers in comparison with the indicators of oil and bottom water processing achieved in the presence of the reactants used at existing facilities; their optimal consumption has been determined. The study has shown that the selected demulsifiers provide the required quality of the oil and water under processing at the considered oil processing facilities and can be used along with the basic reactants for these facilities. On the basis of total indicators, the best results have been achieved using "Hercules 2202 grade A" with the improved indicators of water cut and residual oil content in water by 33.9 % and 2.8 % while reducing the reactant consumption by 9.7 % compared to the basic demulsifier.

In recent years, there has been a further development of refining technology, which make it possible to better use of crude oil, which also has a major impact on the quality of bitumen. Most European refineries, of course, are processing, for reasons of the resale of petroleum products, especially petroleums suitable for the recovery of light and middle fractions. Therefore, light petroleums are required, with low yields of heavy fractions, which are highly economically and in dispositions efficient for processors on the petroleum market. Emphasis is placed on the sulfur content, the paraffin content is no longer the most important aspect. Less important from the perspective of the refinery is the content and the ratio of asphaltenes and maltenes. There is no doubt that we will have to change our view on petroleum products. Their availability will continue to decline, their price, on the other hand, is likely to grow in relation to falling supplies of resources. Therefore, the view of the bitumen must be changed. The most common way of production of PG bitumen is vacuum distillation, which is carried out in such a way that the vacuum distillation residue satisfies it´s properties bitumen requirements for the relevant penetration.

The maximum yield of toluene resulting from catalytic aromatization of a selected cut from Turner Valley crude oil has been determined. Using a catalyst containing 14% chromium trioxide on aluminium trioxide and a temperature of 515 °C., a total yield of toluene equal to 3.15% by weight of the original crude may be obtained. This is 137% greater than the quantity of toluene originally present in the crude (1.33%). A possible recovery of approximately 250,000 lb. of toluene per day is indicated for the whole Turner Valley field (1942).

Subject The electric vehicle industry in China. Significance A new subsidy regime for electric vehicles (EVs) in China aims to improve the quality of new models in order to capture a growing share of export markets. Chinese carmakers dominate domestic sales of EVs but struggle to compete in export markets, where foreign models boast better performance. Impacts China’s push for EVs, particularly electric buses, suggests that diesel demand will moderate and then fall in coming years. Urban air, in particular, will benefit from the drop in diesel fumes. The electricity system will accommodate rising demand from EVs without serious stress. Substituting imported crude oil for vehicle fuel with domestically sourced electricity may improve energy security.

The objectives of this work were concentrated to investigate the enhancement of petrol distillate production from crude oil after treating with two additives. Attempts were also made to find out the mechanisms, those are responsible for enhancing the quantity and quality of petrol from crude oil by straight run refining process. From this study, it has been illustrated that the yield of petrol was directly proportional to the lubricating oil and inversely proportional to the bitumen asphalt content in the hydrocarbon mixture influenced by both physical and chemical reasons. The yield of petrol was increased ca. 4 % (w/w) when 0.25 % (w/w) additive-1 was used for blending before distillation. The physical properties of distillate petrol product were studied as well as the chemical quality was determined by TGA, 1H-NMR and GC-MS photometer.
