Aluminum Extrusion Technology covers the theory and practice of extrusion and its application in the production of aluminum alloy parts. The first few chapters discuss the mechanics and thermodynamics of direct and indirect extrusion processes and the effect of key variables such as strain and strain rate, friction, pressure, flow stress, and temperature. Subsequent chapters explain how to implement and maintain industrial-scale aluminum extrusion processes. The chapters cover extrusion presses and equipment, tooling and die design, billet casting, and process control. They also provide information on the extrusion characteristics of soft, medium, and hard alloys and discuss the use of statistical process and quality control. The method to improving surface corrosion resistance of 6063 aluminum alloy was studied, and the mechanism of surface corrosion resistanc was discussed in theory. The results indicate that the adjustment of chemical composition is of advantage to corrosion resistance of the alloy, its property is better as Mg, Si mass ratio at about 1.55. The necessary homogenizing treatment of cast ingot subserves corrosion resistanc of aluminum extrusion, and the cast ingot should be cooled quickly after heat treatment. Significant effect of extrusion technology on erosive property is observed from aluminum alloy, aluminum extrusion has good corrosion resistance when outlet temperature is at about 510 degree centigrade.

The utilization of local food commodities such as corn and cassava with seaweed addition as a dietary fiber source for producing artificial rice through extrusion technology is an  alternative for food diversification. The research was carried out to find out the best composition (rice, corn, cassava, and seaweed) and temperature of extrusion process on making artificial rice and the influence of dietary fibre on sensory properties and physicochemical. The composition of rice, corn, and cassava in proportion  of 1:3:1 with 20% seaweed, Eucheuma cottonii, addition and temperature extruder of 90 °C were selected as the best product for artificial rice. The  sensory evaluation was 8.02±0.21 (people’s preference). In physicochemical properties, dietary fiber significantly affected on low bulk density and starch digestibility. This condition is very good for health especially in maintaining the stability of blood glucose in the body. Keywords: artificial rice, composition, extrusion, seaweed, dietary fibre, temperature
