Mapping of the potential of coral reefs on the coast of the Madura Strait is evaluated. The coral mapping purposes are to evaluated a total area of the coral reefs in line with the current condition. The index of the area of coral reefs on the coast of the Madura Strait was also compiled to produce a database of the parameters that affect to the coral reefs growths. The imaga data processed is using Landsat. Maping data processing methos is using Lyzinge Algorithm since the area has shallow water area characteristics. The area of coral reef substrate identified according to the processed image is 10.478.032 Ha. The Landsat 7 satellite imagery has an ability to detect the characteristics of shallow waters using blue channels with wavelengths of 0.45-0.52 µm and green channels with wavelengths of 0.52-0.60 µm. However, to determine the condition and how severe the damage to coral reefs, detection with satellite imagery is not enough so that direct observation is needed through scuba diving activities. Scuba diving is carried out to determine the condition of coral reefs. Roughly, coral reef ecosystems in the objects are categorized as moderate to damaged. The damage to this coral reef ecosystem identified at the depths of 5 and 10 meters.

Research related to coral reef cover and diversity on Tinabo Besar Island was carried out in 2018, so it is necessary to conduct further research to determine the cover and diversity of coral reefs on Tinabo Besar Island in a sustainable manner (Time series) in order to improve the quality of coral reef ecosystems in the waters and management of national park area. This research was conducted from 9 July 2019 to 7 August 2019 at Taka Bonerate National Park, Selayar Islands, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Location of data collection on Tinabo Besar Island. The data taken includes coral reef cover with 4 stations representing the wind directions, namely north, south, east, and west. Coral reef data were collected using the LIT (Line Intercept Transact) method. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the percentage of coral reef cover on the island of Tinabo Besar, Taka Bonerate National Park, South Sulawesi ranged from 25.80% to 45.80%. The diversity is in the medium category with the index value (H') ranging from 1 - 3 based on the Shannon - Wienner Index. The average percentage of life corals from the four stations is moderately damaged.

Holocene Foraminiferal fauna at the area of Phan Vinh island, Truong Sa archipelago is relatively abundant and diverse in both taxonomic composition and ecological characteristics. The initial research results have identified 69 species (excluding several ones unidentified) belonging to 42 genera, 25 families and 6 orders. Among them, the representatives of the genera of Calcarina, Amphistegina, Heterostegina, Elphidium, Amphisorus, Marginopora, Sorites, Parasorites, Peneroplis, Archaias, Siphonipheroides, Septotextularia are predominant. They characterized by the shallow, transparent and warm marine environments of the region of Truong Sa archipelago during Holocene. Some problems related to this fauna at the area of Phan Vinh island such as biodiversity of coral-reef ecosystems, stratigraphic and paleogeographical significances, and its role of reef - building are also mentioned in this article. In addition, for the modern Foraminifera in the world, today they are being used as ‘biomarkers’ (bioindicators) in assessing and monitoring environmental quality of coral reef ecosystems in particular and marine environment in general. In Vietnam, this method has not been applied, but in the future, this is one of the methods that should be concerned. In addition, in aquaculture the Foraminifera is also a source of nutrition that should not be ignored.

The present study aimed to explore patient preferences for attributes of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatments. A stated preference survey was completed by 150 patients with HCC living in Europe. Overall survival (OS) was the most important attribute, closely followed by risk of diarrhea and hypertension, and other adverse event (AE) risks. Patients were willing to trade OS to reduce AE risks. While less important than OS and AEs, patients also preferred shorter waiting times, and one-off administration of selective internal radiation therapy and oral tablets over intravenous infusions. Although patients placed the most value on extending OS, they were willing to forego OS to avoid risk of treatment-related AEs, to maintain their quality of life.

Title: PES (Payment For Environment Services) Contribution for Sustainability of Scuba Diving Tourism in Gili Matra Conservation AreaConservation areas which are utilized as diving tourism location, have potencials to cause damages of the surrounding thicks of coral reef ecosystem resources. Tourists who have gained satisfaction when enjoying the beauty of the nature “under the sea”, hence they must provide reciprocal contributions for the environment. The contribution funds will be used for costs of damaged environmental quality restoration due to tourist activities. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the magnitude of PES’ contribution to the sustainability of coral reef ecosystems as  a mean to support diving tourism activities, and how the collection mechanism of PES is being efficient and optimal. Research results indicated that, PES fees from users of diving tourism services have significant effects on growth of coral reef ecosystem if the fees are managed properly and correctly. In the collection scheme of PES which is proposed in this article is by involving the entire stakeholders who have importance to the conservation areas into funding management institution for PES.

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. It is recognised and appreciated worldwide as a unique environment and for this reason has been inscribed on the World Heritage List. The Reef is economically-important to Queensland and Australia, supporting substantial tourism and fishing industries. Management of the Great Barrier Reef to ensure conservation of its natural qualities in perpetuity is achieved through the establishment of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The maintenance of water quality to protect the reef and the industries which depend on it is becoming an increasingly important management issue requiring better knowledge and possibly new standards of treatment and discharge.
