A calibration method for the designed curved zoom compound eye is studied in order to achieve detection and positioning of spatial objects. The structure of the curved zoom compound eye is introduced. A calibration test platform is designed and built based on the image characteristics of the compound eye, which can be constructed in the large field view for the calibration target. The spot images are obtained through image processing. The center of the spot is calculated by Gauss fitting method. This method is highly simple and intuitive, and it can be used in a zoom surface compound eye without any complex procedures. Finally, the corresponding relationship between the spot center coordinates and the incident light vector of the corresponding sub-eye is established, and the calibration of the multi vision positioning system is completed.

The image deconvolution technique can recover potential sharp images from blurred images affected by aberrations. Obtaining the point spread function (PSF) of the imaging system accurately is a prerequisite for robust deconvolution. In this paper, a computational imaging method based on wavefront coding is proposed to reconstruct the wavefront aberration of a photographic system. Firstly, a group of images affected by local aberration is obtained by applying wavefront coding on the optical system’s spectral plane. Then, the PSF is recovered accurately by pupil function synthesis, and finally, the aberration-affected images are recovered by image deconvolution. After aberration correction, the image’s coefficient of variation and mean relative deviation are improved by 60% and 30%, respectively, and the image can reach the limit of resolution of the sensor, as proved by the resolution test board. Meanwhile, the method’s robust anti-noise capability is confirmed through simulation experiments. Through the conversion of the complexity of optical design to a post-processing algorithm, this method offers an economical and efficient strategy for obtaining high-resolution and high-quality images using a simple large-field lens.

This paper proposes an hybrid online calibration method for a laser scanner mounted on a mobile platform also equipped with an imaging system. The method relies on finding the calibration parameters that best align the acquired points cloud to the images. The quality of this intermodal alignment is measured by Mutual information between image luminance and points reflectance. The main advantage and motivation is ensuring pixel accurate alignment of images and point clouds acquired simultaneously, but it is also much more flexible than traditional laser calibration methods.
