Infrared imaging theory is an important theoretical basis for the design of infrared imaging systems, but there is no research on infrared imaging theory for designing thermal microscope imaging systems. Therefore, we studied the performance evaluation and optimization theory of thermal microscope imaging systems. In this paper, we analyzed the difference in spectral radiant flux between thermal microscope imaging and telephoto thermal imaging. The expression of signal-to-noise ratio of the output image of the thermal microscope imaging systems was derived, based on the analysis of the characteristics of thermal microscope imaging. We studied the performance evaluation model of thermal microscope imaging systems based on the minimum resolvable temperature difference and the minimum detectable temperature difference. Simulation and analysis of different detectors (ideal photon detector and ideal thermal detector) were also carried out. Finally, based on the conclusion of theoretical research, we carried out a system design and image acquisition experiment. The results show that the theoretical study of thermal microscope imaging systems in this paper can provide reference for the performance evaluation and optimization of thermal microscope imaging systems.

ABSTRACT Ambient seismic noise (ASN) is becoming of interest for geophysical exploration and engineering seismology, because it is possible to exploit its potential for imaging. Theory asserts that the Green’s function can be retrieved from correlations within a diffuse field. Surface waves are the most conspicuous part of Green’s function in layered media. Thus, the velocities of surface waves can be obtained from ASN if the wavefield is diffuse. There is widespread interest in the conditions of emergence and properties of diffuse fields. In the applications, useful approximations of the Green’s function can be obtained from cross correlations of recorded motions of ASN. An elastic field is diffuse if the background illumination is azimuthally uniform and equipartitioned. It happens with the coda waves in earthquakes and has been verified in carefully planned experiments. For one of these data sets, the 1999 Chilpancingo (Mexico) experiment, there are some records of earthquake pre-events that undoubtedly are composed of ASN, so that the processing for coda can be tested on them. We decompose the ASN energies and study their equilibration. The scheme is inspired by the original experiment and uses the ASN recorded in an L-shaped array that allows the computation of spatial derivatives. It requires care in establishing the appropriate ranges for measuring parameters. In this search for robust indicators of diffusivity, we are led to establish that under certain circumstances, the S and P energy equilibration is a process that anticipates the diffusion regime (not necessarily isotropy), which justifies the use of horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio in the context of diffuse-field theory.

Face image super-resolution refers to recovering a high-resolution face image from a low-resolution one. In recent years, due to the breakthrough progress of deep representation learning for super-resolution, the study of face super-resolution has become one of the hot topics in the field of super-resolution. However, the performance of these deep learning-based approaches highly relies on the scale of training samples and is limited in efficiency in real-time applications. To address these issues, in this work, we introduce a novel method based on the parallel imaging theory and OpenVINO. In particular, inspired by the methodology of learning-by-synthesis in parallel imaging, we propose to learn from the combination of virtual and real face images. In addition, we introduce a center loss function borrowed from the deep model to enhance the robustness of our model and propose to apply OpenVINO to speed up the inference. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time to tackle the problem of face super-resolution based on parallel imaging methodology and OpenVINO. Extensive experimental results and comparisons on the publicly available LFW, WebCaricature, and FERET datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

This article discusses the process of repairing, optimizing and manufacturing of fabrics by 3D software, and the 3D scanned imaging theory. To present a simulated texture effect on the fabric, it needs to refer to three necessary conditions of visual texture and use the advantages of 3D software. It will be possible to form a highly simulated visual texture fabric after optimized testing.

Abstract In this paper, we review the current state of phase plate imaging in a transmission electron microscope (TEM). We focus especially on the hole-free phase plate (HFPP) design, also referred to as the Volta phase plate (VPP). We discuss the implementation, operating principles and applications of phase plate imaging. We provide an imaging theory that accounts for inelastic scattering in both the sample and in the HFPP.
