Thermodynamics of trapped charged ideal spin-1 bosons confined in a magnetic field are investigated within semi-classical approximation and truncated-summation approach. It is shown that the critical temperature increases slightly at the first, and then decreases slowly with increasing external magnetic field. Charged spin-1 Bose gases present a crossover from diamagnetism to paramagnetism as the spin factor increases. Charged spin-1 Bose gases exhibit distinct thermodynamic behaviors from the spinless case.

We study the fermionisation of Seiberg–Witten mapped action (to order θ) of the λϕ4 theory coupled minimally with U(1) gauge field governed by Chern–Simons action. Starting from the corresponding partition function we derive nonperturbatively (in coupling constant) the partition function of the spin-1/2 theory following Polyakov spin factor formalism. We find that the dual interacting fermionic theory is nonlocal. This feature also persists in the limit of vanishing self-coupling. In θ → 0 limit, the commutative result is obtained.

Letϕbe a semiflow of holomorphic maps of a bounded domainDin a complex Banach space. The general question arises under which conditions the existence of a periodic orbit ofϕimplies thatϕitself is periodic. An answer is provided, in the first part of this paper, in the case in whichDis the open unit ball of aJ∗-algebra andϕacts isometrically. More precise results are provided when theJ∗-algebra is a Cartan factor of type one or a spin factor. The second part of this paper deals essentially with the discrete semiflowϕgenerated by the iterates of a holomorphic map. It investigates how the existence of fixed points determines the asymptotic behaviour of the semiflow. Some of these results are extended to continuous semiflows.

The results are presented in this paper of investigations on the pressure distributions around aerofoil section blades while rotating in a wind tunnel. The experimental difficulty of obtaining pressures during rotation was overcome by the use of a special gauge attached to the hubs and illuminated by “Strobo-flood” for direct observation. Pressure diagrams and lift coefficients were obtained along the radius of a double-blade set, arranged as a windmill, for various angles of incidence. Static tests were conducted also in all cases to find values for comparison. As the purpose of the work was to contrast rotating and static conditions, two main facts are emphasized: the similarity in the pressure diagram shapes and the significance of the spin factor. It therefore becomes possible to correct ordinary test results obtained when using stationary aerofoil blades in wind tunnels by adding the effect of a vortex of rotation of uniform strength.
