The aims of this research is to identify the effect of Nb2O5addition on the electrical properties of Fe2TiO5ceramics-based NTC thermistor. The concentration of Fe2O3and TiO2was proportional to Fe2TiO5, whereas the concentration value of Nb2O5were 0, 0.5 and 1.0 mole %, respectively. Within two hours, the mixed powder was pressed at 4 ton/cm2to form pellets and sintered at 1300 °C in air. It can perceived from the XRD data that the sintered ceramics had single phase of Fe2TiO5, pseudobrookite. From SEM data, it is found that addition of Nb2O5decreases the grain size. The addition of Nb2O5increases thermistor constant, activation energy and electrical resistance of Fe2TiO5ceramics. The values of thermistor constant of Nb2O5added-Fe2TiO5ceramics were relatively large, indicated that the ceramics were aplicable as the NTC thermistor.

NTC thermistor powder was made of a Mn, Ni, Fe and Co oxide mixture calcinated at 1050?C / 60 min. The powder was milled in a ball mill down to an average particle diameter of 0.9 ?m. Small disc shaped pills of the powder obtained were made by pressing with a pressure of 2.5 MPa. The pills were sintered in the temperature range of 900-1400 ?C for 30-240 min. The volume and specific volume resistivity change were measured as a function of sintering conditions. Microstructure development was observed using a SEM microscope. Using the results obtained, optimization of sintering parameters was performed in order to determine optimal electrical properties of the selected thermistor composition.

Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) ceramics with general composition Ni0.6Mn2Si0.4-xAlxO4 (0≤x≤0.04) were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method and were investigated for cationic distribution and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed that the Si cations occupied the tetrahedral site. The valence states of Mn ions were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectral (XPS). The results showed that Mn4+ content decreased from 0.19 mol to 0.185 mol when the Si molar content declined from 0.4 to 0.1, i.e. the content of Mn4+ was 0.197mol when x was equal to 0.4. Besides, the resistivity (ρ25) reached the minimum value when the Si molar content was 0 (ρ25=4.07×104Ω·cm).

The aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of V2O5 additive on the electrical properties of NTC thermistors based on Ni0.5Co0.5Mn2O4.The XRD analyses indicate that single spinel phase can form, and V2+ions are in the octahedral interspace. The cell can be enlarged due to the V2O5 additive. The resistivities (ρ) and the material constant (B) increase obviously, the reasons of which are mainly attributed to the outer electron configuration of V2+ and cell enlargement.
