With the help of orientation distribution function (ODF) analysis, experiments of different hot band grain microstructure 0.33% silicon steel were cold-rolled and annealed in the laboratory,to study the effect of the microstructure hot-rolled steel strip for cold rolled non-oriented silicon steel microstructure and texture of recrystallization annealing. The results show that hot rolled microstructure on cold rolled Non-Oriented Electrical Steel cold-rolled sheet evolution of texture and recrystallization have important influence, the quiaxed grain structure of steel by cold rolling and recrystallization annealing, the recrystallization speed than the fiber grain-based mixed crystals recrystallization fast , With the equiaxed grains made of cold rolled silicon steel after annealing the {110}<UVW> texture components was enhanced and {100}<uwv> texture components weakened. Different microstructure condition prior to cold rolling in the recrystallization annealing process the texture evolution has the obvious difference, the equiaxial grain steel belt cold rolling and annealing, has the strong crystal orientation. This shows that the equiaxed grain when hot microstructure is detrimental to the magnetic properties of cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel to improve and increase.

In this paper, non-silicon steel sheets were produced by both twin-roll casting method and conventional process. Orientation characteristics and texture evolution of the sheets during casting, cold rolling and recrystallization annealing were investigated for comparison. It was found that the subsurface of twin-roll casting strips are characterized by weak {100} orientation while the central layer by random orientation. Twin-roll casting process can decrease α fiber (//RD) and increase γ fiber (//ND) during cold rolling process. Consequently, the η fiber (//RD) favorable for magnetic properties of non-silicon steels is enhanced and the detrimental {111} component is suppressed after annealing.

High silicon steel with Si content of 6.5wt.% is perspective to be applied in magnetic devices at high frequencies. It is very hard to produce Fe-6.5wt%Si alloy thin sheet by conventional hot-cold rolling method because of its embrittlement at room temperature resulted from the formation of intermetallic phases like B2 and D03. In this paper, embrittlement mechanism, rolling processes, and magnetic properties for the cold rolled Fe-6.5wt.% Si alloy sheets are discussed. Our study indicates that thermal mechanical treatments can improve the ductility of the Fe-6.5wt.%Si alloy. The Fe-6.5wt.%Si alloy sheets of 0.05 mm thickness can be successfully obtained after hot-cold rolling and heat treatments. Lamination pieces can be punched directly from the sheets. Tensile strength as high as 1048MPa and elongation over 3% were measured at room temperature.

In this item, the low carbon steel hot sheets by compact strip production (CSP) technology were cold rolled and annealed in laboratory. texture evolution during the production process of CSP-cold rolled strip were investigated by means of the XRD. The results were as follows: After hot deformation of thin slab formed a strong γ- fibre orientation texture, the density of texture increase with the cold rolled reduction increased, especially for the negative texture {100}, in γ-fibre orientation cold rolling texture density has no significant change. Compared to the traditional process, hot rolled steel sheet has higher texture, cold-rolled steel sheet has the same texture, and after-annealing sheet has further higher texture in the CSP-cold rolling process. This study enables better understanding and control on the evolution of textures the cold-rolled steel sheet processed by CSP technique and provides theory support for exploiting the CSP the cold-rolling deep drawing steel sheet

An Fe-6.5 wt. % Si steel sheet with a final thickness of 0.30 mm was produced by twin roll strip casting and warm rolling process. The effects of casting, warm rolling and annealing process on microstructure, texture and magnetic properties were investigated with optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurement. The microstructure evolution during preparation was shown as follows: columnar grain and a small amount of fine grain in center (as casted) elongated grains and a small amount of the shear bands along the rolling direction (as rolled) a relatively uniform recrystallized microstructure (as annealed). The texture evolution during preparation was shown as follows: {001} λ fiber texture (as casted) the significant α fiber texture and the weak, inhomogenous γ fiber texture (as warm rolled) the strong {001} λ fiber texture and weak, inhomogenous γ fiber texture (as annealed). The excellent soft magnetic properties were obtained with a very small P1.0/400of 10.751 W/kg and a very high B50up to 1.438 T at optimum annealing condition (1150 °C for 1 h). The research work was useful to develop electrical steel by twin roll continuous casting process.
