Due to the limit of complicated landform in western China, a typical continuous rigid-frame bridge could be easy to be built, especially for asymmetric spans. Based on the engineering background of Sinan Yantou river Bridge in Guizhou province, dynamic characteristics of the type of bridge are studied in this paper. Firstly, by using Midas/Civil, 6 different models are established and their modal analysis could be done while it is considered that the beam of left T-shaped is gradually decreasing under the same height of piers. Then, all seismic responses are calculated by using response spectra method. Finally, the computational results are discussed and some key features are summarized. Our investigation will have some valuable references for seismic analysis of the same style bridge.

Abstract Background: The number of families who lost their only child is estimated to be 10 million by 2035. The parents who lost their only child are forced to endure psychological suffering and cope with elderly care problems alone. Long-term poor mental health can affect physical health and reduces the quality of life and well-being. Methods: Participants were selected using the method of combining stratified sampling with cluster sampling. The study used GDS and adopted a generalized linear regression model to investigate the parents who lost their only child in Anshun city, Guizhou province, China, to comprehensively and systematically explore the depression status and it's influencing factors of the parents. Results: The parents who lost their only child of different self-assessment of health status (P=0.004) and the number of chronic diseases (P=0.001) had different GDS scores. EQ-5D score(P=0.019) and SSRS score(P<0.001) were significantly associated with the depression of the parents who lost their only child. Conclusion: The parents who lost their only child is a high-risk group of depression, and targeted interventions should be carried out for them. The family doctor team should increase the frequency and content of serving them, and promptly manage their health. A diverse social support system should be built and consolidated for these parents.

The reserve of sedimentary phosphate deposits in Guizhou province in western China is huge, but has been no development because of its difficulties of comprehensive utilization. Using mineral processing techniques, Rare earth containing phosphate rock flotation and flotation concentrate leaching test study were done. Rare earth enrichment in those processes was studied too. Through rougher flotation conditions test, it was determined that the optimal rougher flotation conditions were grinding fineness 75% -0.074mm, H2SO4, H3PO4 and SOP dosage of 10kg/t, 0.15kg/t and 0.8 kg/t. A reverse flotation flowsheet consisted of one roughing, one cleaning and one scavenging stage was used for the closed-circuit flotation tests. Phosphate concentrate could be got with P2O5, MgO, REE grade of 31.87%, 0.98%, 0.15% and recovery of 85.83%, 8.84%, 86.81% respectively. P2O5 recoveries and REE recoveries of phosphate concentrate was a positive linear relationship. Under the condition of liquid/solid3:1, acid/ore ratio 1.2, leaching time 3.5 hours and temperature 75°C, the phosphate concentrate was leached by sulfuric acid. The better indicators that P2O5 leaching rate of 95.92% and REE leaching rate of 52.11% could got.

The integrated crop-livestock production system provides most of the food needed by the people of China. Five types of integrated production systems are recognised; rangeland, grain crops, crop/pasture, agro-silvopastoral and ponds. Development of more sustainable and integrated crop-pasture-rangeland-livestock production systems has been recently achieved. Demonstrations of the integrated systems at household, village and regional levels are occurring for rain-fed agriculture on the Loess Plateau, the Hexi Corridor, north-western China and the Karst region of Guizhou Province, south-western China. These indicate that integration of crop, livestock and forage are effective means of improving agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability and farmers’ incomes. Widespread adoption of integrated farming systems should also reduce rangeland degradation.

Abstract Background: CXC chemokine famliy genes play an important role in inflammatory and immune diseases. CXCL16 affects the occurrence and development of inflammation through leukocyte chemotaxis, leukocyte adhesion and endotoxin clearance. We selected a set of tagSNPs in CXCL16 gene and investigated their clinical relevance in relation to the development of sepsis and MODS in patients with major trauma in three independent Chinese Han populations. Methods: A total of 1,620 major trauma patients were enrolled in this study. Among which, 920 patients came from Chongqing in western China, 350 patients came from Zhejiang province in eastern China and 350 patients came from Guizhou province in southern China. Improved multiplex ligation detection reaction (iMLDR) was used in the genotyping and genetic association study was used to analyze the association between CXCL16 haplotypes and sepsis morbidity rate and higher MOD Scores in three cohorts. Results: CXCL16 T123V181 haplotype was associated with an increased risk for sepsis morbidity rate and higher MOD Scores in three cohorts. In vitro chemotactic experiment showed that T123V181 protein enhanced the chemotaxis of immunocytes. The adhesion ability of THP-1 cells which expressing T123V181 to immunocytes was also stronger than that of the other three haplotypes. T123 and V181 altered the structure of CXCL16 active center, which led to the change of protein function and the change of adhesion and chemotaxis of CXCL16 expressing immunocytes. The structural change might be the cause of the increased incidence of sepsis and higher score of MODS.Conclusions: We demonstrate that CXCL16 genetic variation regulates sepsis morbidity rate and explore a paradigm for the prewarning diagnosis of sepsis tailored by individual genetic information.Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov , NCT01713205. Registered 18 October 2012, retrospectively registered.

The new series Elatostema section Weddellia series Xingyiensia L.D. Duan & D.H. Yin (Urticaceae) is described. In addition, its new species Elatostema xingyiense L.D. Duan & D.H. Yin, endemic to Guizhou Province, is also described and illustrated with photographs. The new series is morphologically similar to series Melanocarpa W.T. Wang and series Sublinearia W.T. Wang. The new species is most similar to E. melanocarpum, E. sublineare, E. obscurinerve, E. langicuspe and E. youyangense in morphology, but can be visibly distinguished by a combination of characters, including leaf vein, male inflorescences, female inflorescences and persistent tepals.

In this study, Ophiorrhiza guizhouensis, a new species of Rubiaceae from south-western China, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to O. japonica, but differs from the latter by having terete stems which are densely hirtellous, usually persistent ciliate stipules with well-developed colleters inside the base of the stipule, shorter corolla tubes and shorter stamens and styles.

Australobiustracheoperspicuussp. n. (Lithobiomorpha: Lithobiidae) was recently discovered from the Cave of the brickyard of Gaofeng village, in the Guizhou Province, southwest China, and it is described here. Morphologically the new species is similar to A.magnus (Trozina>, 1894) from north-western China. The new species can be easily distinguished from those by the trachea connected to the valve of the TIII clearly visible from the dorsal side, the absence of ocelli on each side of the cephalic plate, the DaC spine being only present on the XIIIth–XVth legs. Numbers of examined specimens, distribution and the main morphological characters and an identification key to the known Chinese species of genus Australobius based on adult specimens is given.
