Abstract: ETABS Stand for Extended Three-Dimensional Analysis of Building systems. ETABS integrates every aspect of the engineering design process. In the present situations of construction industry, the buildings that are being constructed are gaining significance, in general those with the best possible outcomes which are referred to members like beams and columns in multi storeys R.C structures. This paper deals with the seismic analysis of regular B+G+26 story building with shear wall and G+B+10 Story building with different irregular shapes considering different shapes of shear wall at different locations has been carried out. Which can be done in ETABS taking all the considerations regarding codes and other factors into account. All the buildings were analyzed with the same method as stated in IS 1893-Part-1:2016. The effect of shear walls on lateral capacity of the building are examined because the seismic analysis of a frame depends upon the location and symmetry of shear wall. Present study shows the shear wall improves not only the lateral stiffness and strength capacity but also the displacement capacity of structure. Comparison of results been done of different models by comparing the parameters such as story drift, story displacement, story stiffness and base reaction. Therefore, as far as possible irregularities in a building must be avoided. But, if irregularities have to be introduced for any reason, they must be designed properly following the conditions of IS 13920:1993. The complex shaped buildings are now days getting popular, but they carry a risk of sustaining damages during earthquakes. The evolution of seismic design and calculation criteria for highway bridges has a direct influence on their structural behavior. This paper presents a nonlinear dynamic analysis using a detailed 3D finite element model of an existing bridge, with different design criteria for the column transverse reinforcement, according to code requirements of different times. The numerical model is able to simulate both the collapse of the structure and the generation of damage in its elements when subjected to extreme seismic actions. Through the numerical model, it is possible to represent the cyclic behavior of the concrete, and to evaluate the influence of the transverse reinforcement assigned to the column on the overall response of the bridge. The formation of plastic hinges is verified, as well as the identification of different collapse mechanisms.

Construction of building requires proper planning and management. Buildings are subjected to various loads such as dead load, live load, wind load and seismic load. Seismic load has extreme adverse effect on building so it is necessary to perform seismic analysis. This paper explains about the response of building when it is subjected to seismic load, this response can be shown by story drift and base shear. Behavior of buildings with stub columns is analyzed and the results are compared with buildings without stub columns. Seismic analysis has been performed on (G+7) buildings located in seismic zones 2,3,4&5 using ETABS software. Analysis has been performed according to IS 1893:PartI (2002).The storey drift and design base shear are evaluated and compared. Pushover analysis was performed and the results were compared.

One of the most important topics in geotechnical engineering is seismic analysis of the earth slope. In this study, a pseudo-static limit equilibrium approach is applied for the slope stability evaluation under earthquake loading based on the Morgenstern–Price method for the general shape of the slip surface. In this approach, the minimum factor of safety corresponding to the critical failure surface should be investigated and it is a complex optimization problem. This paper proposed an effective sequential hybrid optimization algorithm based on the tunicate swarm algorithm (TSA) and pattern search (PS) for seismic slope stability analysis. The proposed method employs the global search ability of TSA and the local search ability of PS. The performance of the new CTSA-PS algorithm is investigated using a set of benchmark test functions and the results are compared with the standard TSA and some other methods from the literature. In addition, two case studies from the literature are considered to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed CTSA-PS for seismic slope stability analysis. The numerical investigations show that the new approach may provide better optimal solutions and outperform previous methods.

In this study, we analyzed the near-field seismic records of two moderate sized earthquakes in the Western Balkan region: the September 2016 Skopje earthquake, magnitude ML5.3 and the March 2020 Zagreb earthquake, magnitude ML5.5. Such recordings at close epicentral distances are rare and are thus very useful for testing some of the theoretical assumptions used in modeling earthquake risk. Firstly, response spectra were computed using the digital time histories for the three closest stations to the Skopje 2016 earthquake and the two closest stations to the Zagreb 2020 earthquake. Their characteristics were examined in terms of frequency and peak amplitude ranges. Secondly, the Nakamura method was applied to the records from the selected five stations coded SKO, FCE, IZIIS, QUHS, and QARH. The results of the spectral analysis were compared with interpretations from the geological and geotechnical maps at each location. Our findings support the idea that these combined methods can be used to categorize the underlying structural profile to a first approximation and can be used to derive velocity models.
