Abstract The optimization measures in the physical protection system monitoring center of a nuclear power plant include the prioritization of alarm signals, optimization of sound and light alarm form, improvement of the layout of video monitor screen, security training, and strengthening of organizational management. Based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, the influence of these factors on the probability of alert assessment and guard’s respond time in the EASI method are quantitatively analyzed. Making full use of the measures for prioritization of alarm signals can effectively promote the improvement of human-computer interaction efficiency. The degree of influence of the four factors (guarder’s status, decision strategy, guarder’s training and organization management) on guard’s decision-making is roughly the same.

In order to improve the rationality and validity of the physical protection system effectiveness evaluation in prison, this paper discusses the main factors that affect the system performance in the prison security system construction process and explores the key points in evaluating the effectiveness of searching system. The author of this paper has constructed an evaluation index system that accurately reflects the physical protection system in prison and comes up with an evaluation model and algorithm based on the gray level analysis by verifying the rationality of effectiveness evaluation model of prison physical protection system and the validity of the evaluation method.

The best practices and knowledge of different guidelines would be absolutely useful for professionals in the field of security technology. It is essential for the design and implementation of the data centres which are not really common facilities due to security reasons. Their location, proper activities, even the circumstances of their operation, all this should not be public knowledge. The design and implementation of the data centres depend on their security risk level. This may be fairly known for professionals, but a summary of the essential requirements would be useful for all people involved. In my practice, our company has got a chance to make a complex security plan for a Data Centre, so I would like to present the architectural and security aspects which may be important in the given case. Since a certain level of security is required in a given case, and different levels belong to different physical protection systems (PPS), I have created a facility security matrix to serve as a guideline and to help to decide what kind of PPS should be installed in different cases.
