Along with the economic growth and development, people are facing challenges such as: the exhaustion of non-renewable resources, the natural environment is seriously destroyed, ecological balance is broken. Ensuring basic human rights is difficult because economic growth is not always accompanied by social progress and justice. Therefore, since the 1980s, "sustainable development" has become a strategy, that is mentioned by many countries and international organizations. Sustainable development is a relatively broad concept that covers all aspects and aspects of life, so sustainable development management requires the participation of many actors from state management institutions. to non-state institutions. This article focuses on answering two main questions: 1) Why is it necessary to build a community-based sustainable development management model? 2) What values can we inherit and promote from the Vietnamese tradition of self-governance in building community-based sustainable development management models in the current context?

The methodological base of the research is determined, the basis of which are: system theory, systematic approach to managing a company’s sustainable development, theory and practice of modeling, strategic management, investment design. The improved model is proposed, which determines the interdependence of the strategic management of investment policy and the sustainable economic development of the company, presents the algorithm for managing the process of developing investment strategies in an industrial enterprise. This mechanism takes into account the main indicators of sustainable development of an industrial enterprise. There are proposals to improve the management model of insurance reserves of the company, reflecting the strategic aspects of investment activities necessary for the successful implementation of the course on sustainable development in an industrial company. The obtained results were tested by a number of Russian enterprises, which led to positive results of their activities, contributed to more sustainable development and strengthening of competitive positions.

China is a fascinating market in terms of alcohol consumption. Although drinking bars originated in the West, economic and societal developments have spread the concept throughout China. In 2017, there were approximately 59,600 drinking bars in China, with a 44.06 billion RMB market size. Given societal development, the Chinese bar industry has gradually paid attention to environmental protection and sustainable development. A sustainable bar adopts a management model that reduces and recycles waste and saves energy. The social responsibility of bars is reflected in sustainable consumption. The concept of sustainable bars has been well-received worldwide. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda) provides direction on sustainable development to relevant stakeholders. The 2030 Agenda contains 17 interactive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including the SDG12. Thus, it is important to explore the development of Chinese sustainable bars under the 2030 Agenda and the 17 SDGs. Hence, the Institute for Sustainable Development Goals (TUSDG) of Tsinghua University, Pernod Ricard China, and Kantar China organized one tripartite research group and conducted investigations on drinking bars from three megacities (Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing) to explore the situation, recognition, perspectives, and actions of sustainable bars in China. The results have significant implications. Moreover, the three parties jointly released the “Sustainable Bar Operation Initiatives” and the “Operational Sustainable Bar Application Guidelines” for the bar industry in China.

The HDM-4 (Highway Development Management) model used for pavement management activities must be adjusted to the specific conditions of a country or region where they are to be used by adjusting certain calibration factors. The results obtained from calibrating the cracking, raveling, potholing, rut depth, and roughness models contemplated in HDM-4 version 1.1 for surface treatments are presented and compared with the results obtained from equivalent models of HDM-III. In this task, the “windows” methodology was used, which consists of reconstructing the distress performance curve of a specific road category starting with observation of the condition of different roads with similar characteristics (such as traffic, pavement structural capacity, and climatic conditions) but of different ages. On the basis of the results obtained, recommendations for calibrating the performance models are proposed, and calibration factors more adequate for characteristics specific to Chilean surface treatments are established. On comparing the results of the calibrated models of HDM-III and HDM-4, it is concluded that both cases furnish similar values, and use of HDM-4 models is recommended because of their operating advantages and because they afford a greater flexibility, which allows them to more aptly adapt to a broader number of cases and situations.
