Abstract Fed cattle profitability is determined by complicated dynamic processes of body growth, carcass development, and seasonal prices. A structural model is constructed to contend with all these dynamic processes to predict optimal market timing. Informed simulations are conducted and compared to those observed in the data, as well as to a previous model ignoring the evolution of carcass value. The results indicate that significant improvements to profitability are attainable with the new method. The results also indicate the opportunity cost of not accounting for carcass value, even with error, is more severe than when these dynamics are ignored.

The analysis and understand of human behavior is broad application in the computer vision domain, modeling the human pose is one of the key technology. In order to simplify the model of the human pose and expediently describe the human pose, a lot of condition was appended to confine the process of human pose modeling or the application environments in the current research. In this paper, a new method for modeling the human pose was proposed. The human pose was modeled by the structural relation according to the physiological structural, the advantages of the model are the independent of move, the independent of scale of the human image and the dependent of view angle, it can be used to modeling the human behavior in video.

In this paper, a new method for the numerical simulation of structural model is proposed, which is employed to analyze the pounding response of caissons subjected to storm surge loads.According to the new method, the simulation process is divided into two steps. Firstly, the wave propagation caused by storm surge is simulated by the wave-generating tool of Flow-3D, and recording the wave force time history on the caisson. Secondly,a refined 3D finite element model of caisson is established, and the wave force load is applied on the caisson according to the measured data in the first step for further analysis of structural pounding response using the explicit solver of LSDYNA. The whole simulation of pounding response of a caisson caused by “Sha Lijia” typhoon is carried out. The results show that the different wave direction results in the different angle caisson collisions, which will lead to different failure mode of caisson, and when the angle of 60 between wave direction and front/back wall is simulated, the numerical pounding failure mode is consistent with the situation.

Long-Short Funds should be able to provide positive returns, above the opportunity cost and independent of market conditions, once they can have both long and short positions. For this reason, this study aims to evaluate the Long-Short funds in Brazil, assessing whether customers of these products are buying just market returns (Beta), or if there is excess return (alpha) independent of the stock market. Analyzing a sample of 76 funds from January 2, 2001 to March 31, 2008, using daily and monthly data, we found evidence that a small number of funds are able to generate excess return. Besides, this excess does not exhibit persistence. Finally, there is little or no evidence for market timing.

In this preset article, we have explained all new method to get Initial Basic Feasible solution (IBFS) of Transportation Problem (TP) with the Average Opportunity Cost Method (AOCM). It is very simple arithmetical and logical calculation. After finding the IBFS we use Modified Distribution Method (MODI) method to optimize the IBFS. Results obtained by using this method we found that IBFS of most of the transportation problem closer to optimal solution than using the other existing methods. We illustrate the same by suitable examples.

in the 3D-geological modeling, there will be new wells added. This would require the modification of the structure model, the traditional method is to modify all the places that is in inconformity with the newly-added well stratified data in the 3D structural model according to the well point stratified data. If the number of the newly-added well is large, this method is more than just energy-consuming, the shape of the adjusted 3D-model is also very ugly and unnatural; the author has summarized a set of simple model construction method for the newly-added well point. This new method is less energy-consuming, meanwhile, the surface of the generated structure is natural and smoothing. This new method is applied to a oilfield ,which has achieved good results
