The complexity of much of the mechanical gear used for shock absorption and arresting in aircraft engineering is apt to obscure some of the broad generalizations that may be deduced from the elementary principles of classical mechanics. More particularly does this apply to the distance required to arrest the motion of an aircraft or falling body when the retarding force must not exceed a specified value. This note merely presents some more or less self-evident truths which may be of some value in dealing with new landing and arrester problems.

A low cost shock absorber easy to install and tune was designed to solve the vibration problem produced by the compressor in chemical process. By establishing the mathematical model of the dynamic shock absorption, the shock absorber characteristics were analyzed theoretically. The preliminary experiment was conducted on the testing platform to simulate the factory conditions. The shock absorber was then installed on the compressor for the field validation. Testing results agree well with theory and the shock absorber showed good damping performance.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to describe the structure of nonlinear dampers and the dynamic equations, and nonlinear realization principles and optimize the parameters of nonlinear dampers. Using the finite element method to analyze the seismic performance of the frame structure with shock absorber. Design/methodology/approach The nonlinear shock absorber was installed in a six-storey reinforced concrete frame structure to study its seismic performance. The main structure was designed according to the eight degree seismic fortification intensity, and the time history dynamic analysis was carried out by Abaqus finite element software. EL-Centro, Taft and Wenchuan seismic record were selected to analyze the seismic response of the structure under different magnitudes and different acceleration peaks. Findings Through the principle study and parameter analysis of the nonlinear shock absorber, combined with the finite element simulation results, the shock absorption performance and shock absorption effect of the nonlinear energy sink (NES) nonlinear shock absorber are given as follows: first, the damping of the NES shock absorber is satisfied, and the linear spring stiffness and nonlinear stiffness of the shock absorber are based on the relationship k1=kn×kl2, so that the spring design length is fixed, and the linear stiffness of the shock absorber can be obtained. The nonlinear shock absorber has the characteristics of high rigidity and frequency bandwidth, so that the frequency is infinitely close to the frequency of the main structure, and when the mass of the shock absorber satisfies between 0.056 and 1, a good shock absorption effect can be obtained, and the reinforced concrete with the shock absorber is obtained. The frame structure can effectively reduce the seismic response, increase the natural vibration period of the structure and reduce the damage loss of the structure. Second, the spacer and each additional shock absorber have a small difference in shock absorption effect. After the shock absorber parameters are accurately calculated, the number of installations does not affect the shock absorption effect of the structure. Therefore, the shock absorber is properly constructed and accurately calculated. Parameters can reduce costs. Originality/value New shock absorbers reduce earthquake-induced damage to buildings.

Liquid shock absorbing system as the primary one, although it can solve the shock absorbing problem, there has been a crash or impact occurs instantaneously when the apparent tilt steering and comfort very poor phenomenon. To this end, a new study of nitrogen gas shock absorber fluid control body height at rated load automatically within the body to adjust to the optimal height designed to improve the car's shock absorber damping effect, making the car more shock absorption system safe and comfortable, with a more stable operational.

In a vehicle, shock absorber reduces the effect of travelling over rough ground, without shock absorber the vehicle would have a bouncing ride, as an energy is stored in the spring and then released to the vehicle, possibly exceeding the allow range of suspension movement [1]. Control of excessive suspension movement without shock absorption requires stiffer springs, which would intern gives a harsh ride. Shock absorber allows the use of soft springs while controlling the rate of suspension movement in response to bumps [2]. In this project a new suspension system based on magnetic power which can be used in automobile in future. The suspension system consists of magnets freely moving inside the cylinder with their same poles facing each other. Since the magnetic poles repel each other while moving closer, the up and down spring action is obtained. Keywords: Suspension System, Magnetic Power, Magnetic Poles.

Aim at the shock absorber general weak of spherical robot, design of a new shock absorber structure of the spherical detection robot, the robot have two shock absorption system include rubber with metal bonding reticulated spherical shell and telescopic shock absorber spring, at same time contact the internal parts with soft material. All these measures are to protect the internal parts in robot dropping or throwing process from bigger impact. Derivation it with kinematics and dynamics formula, simulate and experiment proved shock absorber mechanism has a good shock absorber performance. This design can effectively protect the internal parts of the spherical robot.

The analytical review of the papers devoted to the deterministic mechanism of irreversibility (DMI) is presented. The history of solving of the irreversibility problem is briefly described. It is shown, how the DMI was found basing on the motion equation for a structured body. The structured body was given by a set of potentially interacting material points. The taking into account of the body’s structure led to the possibility of describing dissipative processes. This possibility caused by the transformation of the body’s motion energy into internal energy. It is shown, that the condition of holonomic constraints, which used for obtaining of the canonical formalisms of classical mechanics, is excluding the DMI in Hamiltonian systems. The concepts of D-entropy and evolutionary non-linearity are discussed. The connection between thermodynamics and the laws of classical mechanics is shown. Extended forms of the Lagrange, Hamilton, Liouville, and Schrödinger equations, which describe dissipative processes, are presented.

Phenomena of damped harmonic oscillator is important in the description of the elementary dissipative processes of linear responses in our physical world. Its classical description is clear and understood, however it is not so in the quantum physics, where it also has a basic role. Starting from the Rosen-Chambers restricted variation principle a Hamilton like variation approach to the damped harmonic oscillator will be given. The usual formalisms of classical mechanics, as Lagrangian, Hamiltonian, Poisson brackets, will be covered too. We shall introduce two Poisson brackets. The first one has only mathematical meaning and for the second, the so-called constitutive Poisson brackets, a physical interpretation will be presented. We shall show that only the fundamental constitutive Poisson brackets are not invariant throughout the motion of the damped oscillator, but these show a kind of universal time dependence in the universal time scale of the damped oscillator. The quantum mechanical Poisson brackets and commutation relations belonging to these fundamental time dependent classical brackets will be described. Our objective in this work is giving clearer view to the challenge of the dissipative quantum oscillator.

This paper presents sound propagation based on a transverse wave model which does not collide with the interpretation of physical events based on the longitudinal wave model, but responds to the correspondence principle and allows interpreting a significant number of scientific experiments that do not follow the longitudinal wave model. Among the problems that are solved are: the interpretation of the location of nodes and antinodes in a Kundt tube of classical mechanics, the traslation of phonons in the vacuum interparticle of quantum mechanics and gravitational waves in relativistic mechanics.
