New records of Ericthonius didymus Krapp-Schickel, 2013 (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Ischyroceridae) in European waters with a focus in Arcachon Bay, France and key to Ericthonius species

AbstractThe amphipod Ericthonius didymus Krapp-Schickel, 2013 is reported for the first time outside its type locality in European waters, from the French Atlantic coast and from the Azores, Portugal. In particular, a large population was recorded in Arcachon, France. Molecular analyses were made to confirm the validity of three closely related Ericthonius species: E. didymus, E. convexus and E. pugnax. An identification key is provided, distinguishing Ericthonius species into three groups, based on the presence or absence of stridulating ridges on coxa 2 and posterodistal lobe on basis of male pereopod 5.

Abstract Leptogium is a cosmopolitan genus with currently 180 accepted species, of which 46 are reported from Brazil. Leptogium atlanticum, L. azureum, L. cyanescens, L. sessile and L. subjuressianum are recorded from the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina for the first time. Leptogium chloromelum var. crassius is synonymized with L. sessile. Leptogium atlanticum is recorded for the first time outside the type locality. We also provide comments and the first identification key for Leptogium species found in Santa Catarina state.

AbstractWe report new records and corological data for three Moroccan marine macroalgae that complete their distribution information. Radicilingua thysanorhizans is new record for Morocco; Champia compressa is recorded for the first time from the eastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Diplothamnion jolyi is widely distributed in the western coast of the Atlantic coast and Pacific Islands, and recently reported from the Mediterranean Sea; this new record from Moroccan Atlantic coast extends their distribution range.Key words: Algae, Atlantic Ocean, Champia compressa, Diplothamnion jolyi, Radicilingua thysanorhizans.ResumenSe aportan nuevos registros y datos corológicos para tres macroalgas marinas de Marruecos, que completan la información sobre su distribución. A new species of Placospongia is described from Bahia State, Brazil. Placospongia giseleae sp. nov.. The specimen is found on the underside of rocks in shallow waters (0-20m), and is unique by having a spiculation consisting of two tylostyle categories, selenasters and acanthomicrorhabds. In addition, Placospongia ruetzleri, is recorded for the first time to Bahia state, 2.974 km southwards from its type locality, the Guyana shelf. The diversity of Placospongia species is raised from two to four taxa. An identification key for Western Atlantic Placospongia species is presented.

The amphipod genusAoroidesis reported for the first time in European marine waters. Specimens ofAoroides semicurvatusandAoroides curvipeswere collected in oyster reefs in Arcachon Bay between 2009 and 2014 and in Hossegor Lake in 2014 (SW France). Specimens ofAoroides longimeruswere collected in 2013 and 2014 in subtidal slipper limpet beds andZostera marinameadows in Arcachon Bay and in 2014 on floating pontoons in the Bay of Brest (W France). These species, native to Asia, may have been accidentally introduced in Arcachon Bay and Hossegor Lake with oyster transfers and in the Bay of Brest through both oyster transfers and shipping.

Abstract Data on the distribution of Aegialiinae in Poland are summarized, and some new records are added. Photographs of all the species occurring in Poland and an identification key to them are provided, along with some fresh aspects of their biology. The aedeagus and epipharynx of all species present in Poland are illustrated photographically for the first time.

Issus kabylicus Dlabola, 1989 is recorded for the first time from Tunisia and I. vaucheri Gnezdilov, 2017 – from Spain. I. kabylicus is redescribed and illustrated. Male and female genitalia of I. coleoptratus (Fabricius, 1781) are described and illustrated based on the specimens from Germany (type locality). Relationships of African Issus species are discussed. Close relationships of I. climacus Fieber, 1876 to Madeiran and Canarian Issus species are revealed.

(Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Hubei, Fujian, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Vietnam: Sa Pa), T. granosus Chang, Li, Yin & Schülke, sp. nov. (Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan), T. maculosus Chang, Li, Yin & Schülke, sp. nov. (Yunnan), T. meniscus Chang, Li, Yin & Schülke, sp. nov. (Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan), T. qian Chang, Li & Yin, sp. nov. (Guizhou), T. songxiaobini Chang, Li & Yin, sp. nov. (Yunnan), and T. yunnanensis Chang, Li, Yin & Schülke, sp. nov. New collecting data for eight known species: T. beckeri Ullrich, T. grandicollis (Bernhauer), T. laosensis Katayama & Li, T. naomii Li, T. nigriceps Sharp, T. pseudobirmanus Schülke, T. sugayai Schülke and T. yushanensis Campbell are given. Tachinus laosensis Katayama & Li is recorded from China for the first time. An identification key to and distributional maps of the Chinese species of the T. nepalensis group are provided.

ABSTRACT A recent floristic survey of Rhodophyta from Ceará State, Brazil (02º46'30''-07º52'15''S and 37º14'54''-41º24'45''W), revealed the occurrence of 113 species distributed into 14 orders, 28 families and 63 genera. Of these, 18 species belonging to seven orders are new records; some of them poorly described and illustrated in the literature or cited only checklists. Therefore, aiming to expand the taxonomic knowledge about these poorly known species, we present detailed descriptions, illustrations, and comments on related taxa. The occurrence of Ceratodictyon scoparium is confirmed for the South Atlantic coast. The male gametophytes of Dohrniella antillarum var. brasiliensis and tetrasporophytes of Gracilariopsis silvana are illustrated for the first time. Ceramium fujianum is a new addition to northeastern Brazil. Among the new records, Callithamnion corymbosum, Ceramium clarionense, C. fujianum and C. scoparium showed a significant expansion of their geographic distribution along the Brazilian coast. Most of the newly recorded species are filamentous, small-sized or tufted algae, highlighting the need for new collections to detect the presence of these components.

Taxonomic notes are presented on the former Ascalaphidae (owlflies), now subfamily Ascalaphinae of the family Myrmeleontidae from Pakistan. An updated checklist of new records is provided that accounts for all known 15 genera and 22 species from Pakistan, excluding the species of the tribe Palparini. Geographical distribution maps and an updated identification key to all known genera and species from Pakistan are also given. We synonymized two monotypic genera, Horischema Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 and Perissoschema Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 both as junior synonyms of Ogcogaster Westwood, 1847 based on very similar male genitalia and external morphological characters. Moreover, Perissoschema evae Mészáros & Ábrahám, 2003 is treated as a junior synonym of Ogcogaster segmentator Westwood, 1847. We recorded three genera for the first time from Pakistan, i.e., Acheron Lefèbvre, 1842, Glyptobasis McLachlan, 1873, and Suphalomitus van der Weele, 1909. To more completely resolve the generic or specific status of those poorly known species from Pakistan, broader sampling throughout the country is needed.
