AbstractIt is assumed initially that only the increase of entropy defines locally the sense of advance of time. This assumption, together with the feature of global coherence of statistical processes, which is provided by the cosmic line-element, imply that there is a unique way of associating the standards with the cosmic statistical processes. There is hence a connexion between the sense of divergence of geodesics of fundamental observers and the cosmic time-sense. This is in keeping with the unmodified conservation laws of gravitation and the analogous adiabatic conservation law quite generally without dependence on the explicit form of the line element. These remarks correspond exactly to consequences of the ‘elliptic’ model in the case of de Sitter space, obtained by entirely separate geometrical considerations. A remark is made with regard to the irreversibility associated with quantum measurement.

The main purpose of this work is to focus on a discussion of Lie symmetries admitted by de Sitter–Schwarzschild spacetime metric, and the corresponding wave or Klein–Gordon equations constructed in the de Sitter–Schwarzschild geometry. The obtained symmetries are classified and the variational (Noether) conservation laws associated with these symmetries via the natural Lagrangians are obtained. In the case of the metric, we obtain additional variational ones when compared with the Killing vectors leading to additional conservation laws and for the wave and Klein–Gordon equations, the variational symmetries involve less tedious calculations as far as invariance studies are concerned.

We derived the component Lagrangian for the free N-extended on-shell massless higher spin supermultiplets in four-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. The construction was based on the frame-like description of massless integer and half-integer higher spin fields. The massless supermultiplets were formulated for N≤4k, where k is a maximal integer or half-integer spin in the multiplet. The supertransformations that leave the Lagrangian invariant were found in explicit form and it was shown that their algebra is closed on-shell.

This chapter provides a few examples of representations of the universe on a large scale—a first step in constructing a cosmological model. It first discusses the Copernican principle, which is an approximation/hypothesis about the matter distribution in the observable universe. The chapter then turns to the cosmological principle—a hypothesis about the geometry of the Riemannian spacetime representing the universe, which is assumed to be foliated by 3-spaces labeled by a cosmic time t which are homogeneous and isotropic, that is, ‘maximally symmetric’. After a discussion on maximally symmetric space, this chapter considers spacetimes with homogenous and isotropic sections. Finally, this chapter discusses Milne and de Sitter spacetimes.

Abstract In this work, our prime objective is to study non-locality and long range effect of two body correlation using quantum entanglement from various information theoretic measure in the static patch of de Sitter space using a two body Open Quantum System (OQS). The OQS is described by a system of two entangled atoms, surrounded by a thermal bath, which is modelled by a massless probe scalar field. Firstly, we partially trace over the bath field and construct the Gorini Kossakowski Sudarshan Lindblad (GSKL) master equation, which describes the time evolution of the reduced subsystem density matrix. This GSKL master equation is characterized by two components, these are-Spin chain interaction Hamiltonian and the Lindbladian. To fix the form of both of them, we compute the Wightman functions for probe massless scalar field. Using this result alongwith the large time equilibrium behaviour we obtain the analytical solution for reduced density matrix. Further using this solution we evaluate various entanglement measures, namely Von-Neumann entropy, R$$e'$$e′nyi entropy, logarithmic negativity, entanglement of formation, concurrence and quantum discord for the two atomic subsystem on the static patch of De-Sitter space. Finally, we have studied violation of Bell-CHSH inequality, which is the key ingredient to study non-locality in primordial cosmology.
