SnO2 aerogel anode delivers the highest reversible capacity of about 2031 mAh g−1 with a 200% capacity recovery and presents the superior cyclability over 10 000 cycles under high C-rates without evident capacity fading tendency.

Conductive polymer based on a Nickel complex with N4 Schiff base were prepared for the first time, its electrochemical properties and the nature of charge carriers were investigated, and the fundamental possibility of using the polymer as a functional cathode additive in lithium-ion batteries was shown.
