Saunders & van Brakel's analysis of the phenomenal categorization and subsequent experimental research in unique hues fails to include contemporary methodological improvements. Alternative strategies are offered from the author's research that rely less on language and world knowledge and provide strong evidence for the general theoretical constructs of elemental hue, nonbasic, and basic color terms.

Plentiful studies are reported on the semi-rigid behavior of joints between open section H shaped beam and column, but researches focusing on the semi-rigid performance of joints between square/rectangular hollow section (SHS/RHS) column-to-H shaped beam is to lag a lot. Most studies shows that when the SHS/RHS column connecting the H beam without internal diaphragm, the joints behavior is semi rigid in most cases. The details of welded connection between SHS/RHS column-to-H beam without internal diaphragm is diverse, and factors influencing the properties are complicated. This paper reviews the current research situation about such type of connections. The classification of connections is conducted basing on the main detail characteristics. The capacity research status of different detail connections is analyzed and summarized. The aspects for further research are presented.

The international conference “Kantian Rationality in Philosophy of Science” was held on 9–11 October 2020 at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU) in Kaliningrad. Fifteen participants from different countries discussed aspects of the Kantian understanding of science and the roles of reason in it: the unity, difference, and systematicity of the functions of reason in science, as they are revealed in Kant’s discussions of criteria of scientificity, the classification of sciences, or methods of theoretical and experimental research in specific sciences. The topics discussed fell into two broad categories: firstly, the relationship between metaphysics and science in the context of Kant’s time; secondly, the relevance of Kant’s ideas to modern sciences and the concepts of philosophy of science in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

In this paper, several friction features and models are discussed in the context of the dynamical nature of friction force observed during experiments. On the basis of experimental and theoretical analysis, the authors show that such behaviour can be considered as a certain representation of the system dynamics. According to this approach, a classification of friction models with respect to their sensitivity on the system motion character is introduced. Next, the results of experimental research are reported. Friction characteristics reconstructed experimentally for various types of the system response, i.e. periodic, quasi-periodic, and chaotic, are demonstrated. Finally, these results are compared with numerical simulations using the proposed friction model.

The article is devoted to the problem of hydrocarbon extraction through the use of wave technologies and technical means of influencing reservoirs, which underlines its urgency. A classification of main processes that occur in productive formations during wave action, as well as design features and operating principles of oil recovery enhancement techniques, is proposed. A critical review of field testing the technical means of wave action in oil fields allows us to identify their fundamental advantages and disadvantages. Theoretical and experimental research of some devices of elastic wave generation and results of their laboratory tests are presented.

We have investigated the spectrograms (dispersion: 8Å/mm) in the photographic infrared region fromλ7500 toλ9000 of some carbon stars obtained by the coudé spectrograph of the 74-inch reflector attached to the Okayama Astrophysical Observatory. The names of the stars investigated are listed in Table 1.
