As a new environmentally friendly solvent, ionic liquids have been investigated widely. The lack of physico-chemical properties data of ionic liquids has become a bottleneck that restricts their applications. In this study, the investigation of the density for binary mixtures of CnpyNTf2 (n = 2, 4, 5) and methanol is measured using Westphal balance. This study would be very important for the application of binary mixtures of ionic liquid and methanol in developing new energy storage material.

Background: Ionic liquids (ILs) are a unique class of compounds consisting exclusively of cations and anions that possess distinctive properties such as low volatility, high thermal stability, miscibility with water and organic solvents, electrolytic conductivity and non-flammability. Ionic liquids have been defined as "design solvents", because it is possible to modify their physical and chemical properties by appropriately choosing cations and anions, in order to meet the specific characteristics based on their potential application. Introduction: Due of their tunable nature and properties, ILs are considered as the perfect candidates for numerous applications in analytical chemistry including sample preparation, stationary phases in liquid or gas chromatography, additives in capillary electrophoresis, or in mass spectrometry for spectral and electrochemical analysis. In the last years, the number of publications regarding ILs has rapidly increased, highlighting the broad applications of these compounds in various fields of analytical chemistry. Results: This review first described the main physico-chemical characteristics of ionic liquids, and subsequently reported the various applications in different subdisciplines of analytical chemistry, including the extraction procedure and separation techniques. Furthermore, in each paragraph the most recent applications of ionic liquids in the food, environmental, biological, etc. fields have been described. Conclusion: Overall, the topic discussed highlights the key role of ionic liquids in analytical chemistry, giving hints for their future applications in chemistry but also in biology and medicine.

In this article, the normal continuous mode of distillation is considered using an example of binary two-phase mixture distillation. In practice, there are often deviations from the normal mode. It has been proved that the deviation leads to an increase in energy consumption for the ongoing process. In the industry, columns separating binary mixtures are normally the finishing apparatuses in the flow-sheet separation of multicomponent mixtures, which are obtained in the reactor as a result of main reactions as well as by-reactions. The distillation of binary mixtures is relatively simpler than that of multicomponent mixtures. In this regard, the fundamental parts of monographs especially in the thirties-forties of the last century started with the study of binary mixtures, although multicomponent mixtures were the main focus. The aim of analyzing this complex and the highly energy-intensive process is to facilitate the choice of a mathematical model for the process and the determination on its basis variance. Variance is a set of independent variables that allow calculation of a process only after taking into account the number of independent equations related to these variables. A case of deviation from the normal distillation regime where an under-heated liquid enters the column feed has been revised. This leads to an increase in energy consumption during distillation. Key indicators of the normal regime relative to the level of feed and the temperature of the liquid are shown in the text.

Biphosphonates are largely used for their unquestionable properties of inhibiting bone resorption by osteoclast in the treatment of various osteometabolic illnesses such as osteoporosis, multiple myeloma, tumors which metastasize to the bone and malignant hypercalcemia. In this literature review the physico-chemical properties, biologic activities and the mechanisms of action of biphosphonates are described. The use of these drugs is discussed, analyzing the quantity of results which have emerged through in vitro and in vivo experiments on animal models. In this study the efficiency of these drugs is demonstrated in contrasting the osteolitic processes of the alveolar bone, in promoting the neoformation and in bettering the quality of bone implants. However, it is important to draw attention to a worrying correlation which has emerged during the last 3–4 years, between osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) and the systemic administration of aminobiphosphonates. This collateral effect did not emerge following the use of non-aminobiphosphonates. The aim of this revie w is to identify the guidelines for the use of biphosphonates in oral implant surgery.
