In situ cathodic activation (ISCA) of V-incorporated NixSy nanowires supported on nickel foam (VS/NixSy/NF) can be realized in an alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) process, which provides not only obviously enhanced activity but also ultrahigh stability for HER.
