Three novel coordination polymers have been synthesized based on Cd(ii) and 2-(4-((E)-2-(pyridine-2-yl)vinyl)styryl)pyridine by employing different carboxylic acids as auxiliary ligands. All of them can function as fluorescent sensors for TNP with high sensitivity, selectivity and recyclability.

A rapid microwave-assisted solvothermal method is reported for the synthesis of uniform CdSe nanorods in ethylenediamine (EDA) using CdCl2 and elemental Se as reactants. The resultant nanorods have a diameter of approximately 10 nm and a length of approximately 300 nm. Our experiments show that the concentrations of EDA and CdCl2 play important roles in product morphology. The well-dispersed CdSe nanorods with high aspect ratios were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), UV-vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL).

A simple and rapid technique to synthesize LiFePO4 by microwave-solvothermal method assisted a short time post-treatment was described. The crystal structure and the charge-discharge performance of the prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and galvanostatic charge-discharge testing. The results indicated that this rapid synthesis technique by microwave-solvothermal method combined short time post-treatment was an effective way to obtain LiFePO4 with a single olivine-type crystal structure and small particle size. The electrochemical research indicated that the resulting LiFePO4/C composite could deliver 141.7mAh•g-1 at 0.1C at 25 °C and showed good stability retaining 97% after 45 cycles.
