Crystal engineering of robust, cationic lead bromide layered materials have realized a 4-fold improvement of photoluminescence quantum efficiency over our previously reported lead halide materials.

One new lead chlorine cluster assembled 1D non-perovskite halide of [DTHPE]2Pb3Cl10 was synthesized which displays strong broadband bluish white light emission with a high photoluminescence quantum efficiency of 19.45% exceeding those of previously reported 2D lead perovskites.

Single-phase Sr5(PO4)3F:Eu2+,Mn2+ phosphors are prepared, showing white-light emission under near UV excitation. The photoluminescence intensity is enhanced by 85% by using KCl as flux. The relationship between photoluminescence and the crystal and electronic structures is studied.

We demonstrate white-light emission using the piperazine-based perovskites, (pip)2PbBr6, (pip)2Pb4Cl12, (1mpz)2PbBr6, and (2,5-dmpz)0.5PbBr3, in which the inorganic frameworks were connected by piperazinium dications through hydrogen bonds.
