The silicone succinate surfactant (PMPS) was synthesized by ring-opening reaction using polyether alcohol amine modified polysilosane (PAPS) with maleic anhydride (MA) as the raw materials, and p-toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA) was used as the catalyst. Sulfated castor oil and sulfated rapeseed oil were combinated with PMPS to prepare a new leather fatliqour (PMPSF) composed mainly of PMPS. The molecular structure of PMPS was characterized by FTIR spectra; the thermal properties of PMPS was characterized and analyzed by TGA. PMPSF was used in sheepskin wet blue leather and compared with oxidative sulfited vegetable oils (L-3) and RF-1 fatliquor; the waterproof and mechanical properties of the leather were measured. The results show that the thermal decomposition temperature of PMPS is 192.8°C. Fatliquor PMPSF provids a good level-dyeing property, the leather oiled by it has good flexibility and fullness, the waterproofness and mechanical properties of leather are also good. Moreover, compared with the leather fatliquored by L-3, the thickening rate of leather oiled by PMPSF reaches 13.7%.

We have discovered a ring-opening fluorination of bicyclic azaarenes. Upon treatment of bicyclic azaarenes such as pyrazolopyridines with electrophilic fluorinating agents, fluorination of the aromatic ring is followed by a ring-opening reaction. Although this overall trans-formation can be classified as an electrophilic fluorination of an aromatic ring, it is a novel type of fluorination that results in construction of tertiary carbon–fluorine bonds. The present protocol can be applied to a range of bicyclic azaarenes, tolerating azines and a variety of functional groups. Additionally, mechanistic studies and enantioselective fluorination have been examined.

The MWNT-TiO2nanocomposite was synthesized via direct growth of TiO2nanoparticles on the surface of the functionalized MWNTs by the hydrothermal treatment and utilized as the photocatalyst in the carbaryl degradation under both visible light and UV light irradiation. Visible-light-driven activity and enhanced UV-light-driven activity are both achieved as the composite MWNTs with TiO2can efficiently enhance the light absorption and charge separation and then photocatalytic activity. The photodegradation efficiency of carbaryl was examined by HPLC and IC techniques, which demonstrates that carbaryl can be readily degraded under visible light irradiation. Based on the obtained experimental results, assisted with the computer simulation of carbaryl molecule on PM3 level, it is presumed that the degradation of carbaryl starts with the break of N21-C23 and C19-N21 bonds and ends in the generation of naphthalen-1-ol before the ring-opening reaction.
