AbstractWe present the results of investigation of a multifractal structure of the artificial ionospheric turbulence when the midlatitude ionosphere is affected by high-power radio waves. The experimental studies were performed on the basis of the SURA heating facility with the help of radio sounding of the disturbed region of ionospheric plasma by signals from the Earth’s orbital satellities. In the case of vertical radio sounding of the disturbed ionosphere region, the measured multipower and generalized multifractal spectra of turbulence coincide well with similar multifractal characteristics of the ionosperic turbulence under the natural conditions. In the case of oblique sounding of the disturbance region at small angles between the line of sight to the satellite and the direction of the Earth’s magnetic field, a nonuniform structure of the small-scale turbulence with a relatively narrow multipower spectrum and small variations in the generalized multifractal spectrum of the electron density was detected.

The questions of studying the amplitude and phase characteristics of communication channels of radio engineering systems are considered. As part of the research, a homodyne method for converting microwave signals is proposed, which makes it possible to measure amplitude and phase fluctuations with high accuracy and with the utmost simplicity of measuring equipment. The development of the homodyne method of signal transformation for the purposes and tasks of determining the amplitude and phase fluctuations of signals during the propagation of radio waves on open lines of sight is presented. The features of homodyne signal transformation in the presence of various destabilizing factors are considered. The issues of synchronization of reference generators on different parts of the measuring route are considered. The results of theoretical and experimental studies of amplitude and phase fluctuations on land and sea lines of sight are presented. For students and teachers, as well as anyone interested in radio engineering.

Abstract This article presents the results of experimental studies of parameters of natural traveling ionospheric disturbances of “sickle” type observed at mid-latitudes using linear frequency modulation ionosondes. Technical parameters of the ionosondes used are given. Experiments were carried out on slightly inclined paths in the central part of Russia in 2015 - 2020 in the daytime. The transmitting station was located in the village of Vasilsursk, Nizhny Novgorod Region. Registration was carried out in the city of Nizhny Novgorod. Examples of ionograms obtained in the course of measurements with different structure of perturbations are given. Estimates of development times of disturbances and their frequency range have been made. The structure of the received signal is analyzed. Based on the results of a complex experiment using a network of synchronously operating ionosondes of the same type, the data obtained were analyzed and direction and magnitude of propagation velocity of the phase front of moving disturbance were determined. A possible mechanism for the imitation of one-way vertical motion of a traveling disturbance characteristic of the mid-latitude ionosphere is discussed within the framework of multipath propagation of radio waves.

This review presents 40 experimental studies of the effect of electromagnetic radiation of various ranges on the male reproductive function of humans and other vertebrates. The review includes works performed in the period from 2010 to 2020. Currently, not only the negative effect of radio waves, X-rays and gamma radiation has been shown, but many experiments have been carried out, where with the help of electromagnetic radiation it is possible to favorably influence spermatogenesis in general and physiological, biochemical processes in spermatozoa in particular. The purpose of this bibliographic study was to search for options for exposure to electromagnetic radiation to modulate the biological processes of spermatogenesis and sperm motility in vitro.

The paper provides a review of studies devoted to the peculiarities of the propagation of radio waves in the ionosphere in the area of the solar terminator, which is the only global and regular source of acoustic-gravitational waves and other disturbances of the ionosphere. It describes the results of theoretical works devoted to the study of perturbations created by the solar terminator in the area of the difference in the intensity of solar radiation in the atmosphere. The paper gives a review of experimental studies of the effects created by the solar terminator in the entire thickness of the atmosphere. These effects, in particular, include the multipath propagation of radio waves, their phase variations, and variations in amplitudes during the propagation of radio waves in the area of the solar terminator. In the interests of science and practice, a number of problems have been proposed for the further study of wave perturbations arising as a result of the movement of the temperature gradient at sunrise and sunset hours.
