The technologies of automation of pre-trip integrated examination of the drivers’ conditions are considered, which make it possible to significantly improve the quality of control while reducing the time for its passage. A comparative analysis of known analogues is carried out, problems are formulated, the solution of which will increase the diagnostic efficiency of telemedicine examination. The configuration of the developed computer control system and the hardware-software structure of the subject’s control panel are described. The ways of increasing the reliability of user identification are considered. Technical means have been developed for non-contact thermometry and assessment of tremor parameters. Algorithms for assessing the physiological and psychoemotional state of drivers have been implemented.

Hydraulic descaling system is the key device to ensure the surface quality of billet. However, traditional control methods lead to the stability problem in hydraulic descaling system. To solve the problem, the construction of the hydraulic descaling computer control system is studied, the working principle of the system is analyzed, and the high pressure water bench of hydraulic descaling is designed. Based on it, the corresponding computer control software is developed. The application shows that the designed system is stable in practice, which is helpful for enterprise production.

Not a few devices of food production work periodically and programmers are widely used to control these devices. Using logical devices that transfer between program sections can significantly improve the quality of control, but these methods are not sufficiently studied. The research is devoted to the development of a programmer for the implementation of programs with nonlinear time areas, containing logical devices in its structure. Single-loop and combined programmable automatic control system (ACS) with logical devices and without them were investigated and a comparative analysis of their work was performed.

Outlines the problems and self-questioning facing the process control engineer when deciding to replace the computer control system which he has found difficult to justify over the last decade. Should he return to conventional analogue instrumentation or choose a microprocessor based control system? Having highlighted in his mind the problems with his computer based system, has he missed the majority of the advantages which a digital system brings? Does he realise that a major manufacturer has been acutely aware of his problems and has sought to eliminate them with the design of any new system? Can his faith be restored?
