With the continuous and high-speed growth of economy, people's requirements on product quality are increasing year by year, including ceramic brick products, which, as a typical building materials product, are widely used in all kinds of buildings of different sizes. Quality of brick of pottery and porcelain products mainly in the form of through the examination and evaluation. The uncertainty of measurement as an important part of the test results, is an important parameter characterization of the reliability of the measurement result. Therefore, this paper, the source of uncertainty in linear thermal expansion coefficient measurement of ceramic brick is analyzed, using the measurement results and related data, and concludes that for the linear thermal expansion coefficient average of 0.016%. when the report 2 sample average, the expanded uncertainty U (A) = 1.48%, contains the factor k = 2.

The linear thermal expansion coefficient a from 2 to 100 K and heat capacity per gram cp from 03 to 30 K are reported for fully-stabilized zirconia containing a nominal 16 wt.% (9 mol.%) of yttria. The heat capacity below 7 K has been analysed into a linear (tunnelling?) term, a Schottky term centred at 12 K, a Debye term (e~ = 540 K), and a small T5 contribution. The expansion coefficient is roughly proportional to T from 5 to 20 K and gives a limiting lattice Griineisen parameter 'Yo ::::: 5, which agrees with that calculated from elastic data.

Glass-ceramic composite materials based on lead-borate glass and eucryptite – a compound with a negative coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CTE), along with the conditions for their production are studied in this paper. Effects of the amount and granulometric composition of the eucryptite as well as time/temperature processing conditions on the change of the linear thermal expansion coefficient of the sintered samples are also examined.

AbstractThe linear thermal expansion coefficient of YBa2Cu307 as a function of temperature has been studied. An anomaly is observed at 250K. This temperature is found to be dependent on oxygen deficiency.

ZrW2O8 was successfully synthesized via combustion method with (NH4)5H5[H2(WO4)6] ·H2O, ZrOCl2·8H2O, H3BO3, (NH2)2CO and HNO3. The best prescription of combustion synthesizing of ZrW2O8 was obtained. The linear thermal expansion coefficient of synthesized ZrW2O8 is -5.08×10-6oC-1 in the temperature range of 50-600oC. Different weight ratios of ZrW2O8 and ZrO2 were taken into account. Al2O3 was added into the composite during sintering to increase the density of the composites. When the weight ratio of ZrO2 to ZrW2O8 is 2, the composite with near zero thermal expansion can be obtained. 0.25 wt% Al2O3 can effectively increase the density of ZrO2/ZrW2O8 composites with slight influence on the thermal expansion property.
