The productivity, competitiveness and innovation of the manufacturing industries will be improved through the integrated innovation of big data technology and industries. Besides, products, production process, management, services, new form and new models will be more intellectualized. They will support the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry and the construction of an open, shared and collaborative ecological environment for intelligent manufacturing industry.

With the rapid development of cloud computing, Internet of Things, and other technologies, the information technology trend led by “big data” has an impact on all fields. The application of big data technology in the field of ecological environmental protection enables accurate and comprehensive ecological information collection, data analysis, and mining, accurate ecological problem identification, and effective solution. Taking Dongting Lake Ecological Area as an example, this paper constructs an ecological environment information system based on big data and expounds its specific application in water, atmosphere, soil environment monitoring, and pollution control, aiming to provide a reference for the application of big data technology in the field of ecological environment protection in Dongting Lake Ecological Area and more effectively maintain the ecological environmental quality and safety in the area.

With the rise of cloud computing, big data and Internet of Things technology, intelligent manufacturing is leading the transformation of manufacturing mode and industrial upgrading of manufacturing industry, becoming the commanding point of a new round of global manufacturing competition. Based on the literature review of intelligent manufacturing and intelligent supply chain, a total factor production cost model for intelligent manufacturing and its formal expression are proposed. Based on the analysis of the model, 12 first-level indicators and 29 second-level indicators of production line, workshop/factory, enterprise and enterprise collaboration are proposed to evaluate the intelligent manufacturing capability of supply chain. This article also further studies the layout superiority and spatial agglomeration characteristics of intelligent manufacturing supply chain, providing useful reference and support for enterprises and policy makers in the decision-making.

This study focuses on the mediation channels through which the financial performance of intelligent manufacturing industries closely related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution has been affected. Along with compiling a massive volume of datasets publicized by the Chinese government and other authoritative institutions, a survey of the 317 listed enterprises of the intelligent manufacturing industries in China has been established for statistical analysis. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this research tests six hypotheses and confirms the inter-factor impact relationship between exogenous and endogenous factors. We find that innovation efforts mainly led by increasing investment in Research & Development (R&D), along with high liquidity, surely lead to good financial performance, whereas innovation efforts alone do not. Government support policy has been found to be closely related not only to higher liquidity, but to good financial performance through the common channel of R&D investment. Regional innovation capability has been revealed to be related to R&D investments, and, furthermore, to liquidity, which shows that the regional innovation system in China has been functioning relatively well to induce enterprises to increase investments and secure higher liquidity, and finally contribute to achieving better business performance. However, regional economic development shows no relationship with R&D investments, and consequently neither with liquidity nor with performance.

Based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) fast advancement and the integration of advanced analytics into manufacturing, products, and services, several industries face new opportunities and at the identical time challenges of maintaining their ability and market desires. Such integration, that is termed Cyber-physical Systems (CPS), is remodeling the industry into a future level. CPS facilitates the systematic conversion of big data into information that reveals invisible patterns of deterioration and inefficiency and leads to better decision-making. This project focuses on existing trends within the development of industrial huge information analytics and CPS. Then it, in brief, discusses a system architecture for applying CPS in manufacturing referred to as 5C. The 5C architecture, comprises necessary steps to totally integrate cyber-physical systems within the manufacturing industry.

The concept of digital twinning has become a hot topic in the manufacturing industry in recent years. The emerging digital twin technology is an intelligent technology that makes full use of multimodels, big data, and interdisciplinary knowledge, which provides some new approaches for the field of the intelligent manufacturing industry. The job shop scheduling problem has been an important research field in the discrete manufacturing industry. Digital twin technology is adopted to solve the problem of job shop scheduling, which provides the possibility for the intelligent development of workshops. Based on digital twin technology and combined with the actual problem of production line scheduling, we propose a new intelligent scheduling platform to solve the shop scheduling problems above. Meanwhile, based on the prediction and diagnosis of multisource dynamic interference in the workshop production process by big data analysis technology, the corresponding interference strategy is formulated in advance by the scheduling cloud platform. The model simulation experiment of intelligent dispatching cloud platform was carried out, and some enterprises in intelligent manufacturing workshop were taken as examples to verify the superiority of the dispatching cloud platform. Finally, we look forward to the future research direction of intelligent manufacturing based on digital twin technology.
