AbstractThere are many articles reporting anomalies of various blood vessels of upper extremity. In the present article, we are reporting a case of high division of brachial artery into medial and lateral branches, 9.5 cm distal to the lower border of teres major muscle. It was also observed that the two branches are crossing over near the lower part of front of arm and the lateral branch continued into the cubital fossa and trifurcated at the proximal border of pronator teres muscle. We have discussed the anatomy, embryological basis, and clinical implications of these variations along with relevant literature review. The importance of knowledge about these variations in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions is discussed.

Arterial variations of the femoral triangle are rarely reported in the literature. In the present article, we have reported a case of high origin of the deep femoral artery, which was originating just lower to the inguinal ligament. It was also observed that the lateral circumflex femoral artery arose directly from the femoral artery instead from the deep femoral artery. We have discussed the anatomy, embryological basis, and clinical implications of these variations along with relevant literature review. The importance of knowledge about these variations in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions is discussed.

Variations of the upper limb arterial system are well documented. Accurate knowledge of the normal and variant arterial anatomy of the axillary artery is important for clinical procedures and vascular radiology. In this article, a rare bilateral variation of superficial brachial artery is being reported. The axillary artery on both sides divided in its third part into a superficial brachial artery passing superficial to the lateral root of median nerve and brachial artery proper. The former terminated in the cubital fossa by dividing into ulnar and radial arteries while the later descended deep to the medial root of median nerve and gave anterior and posterior circumflex humeral branches of axillary artery and profunda brachii of brachial artery. Then it terminated by giving twigs to muscles of arm. Earlier superficial brachial artery is reported with a prevalence rate varying from 0.2 - 25 % but a bilateral variation is extremely rare. Further its ontogeny and clinical implications are discussed in detail. AbstractA case of bilateral high termination of brachial artery was found during a cadaveric dissection at NEIGRIHMS, Meghalaya. The brachial artery of both arms in the upper 113rd divided into supericial and deep branches, the superficial artery was observed anteromedial and the deep artery posteromedial in relation to the median nerve. In the cubital fossa, the deep artery passed beneath the pronator teres muscle to give common interosseous artery which divided into anterior and posterior interosseous branches. The main trunk followed normal ulnar arterial course. In both the arms, the superficial branch of brachial artery remained lateral to the median nerve to reach the cubital fossa where it passed deep to the bicipital aponeurosis and descended just beneath the brachioradials muscle, following the normal course of radial artery. These developmental variations were thoroughly discussed and compared with previously published findings with their clinical importance.

ABSTRACT Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the frequency and anatomical characteristics of Struthers’ ligament and the supracondylar humeral process and evaluate the clinical implications in compressive neuropathy of the median nerve . Method: We dissected 60 arms from 30 cadavers (26 males and 4 females): 15 were previously preserved in formalin and glycerin and 15 were dissected fresh in the Anatomy Laboratory for this paper. The relationships between Struthers’ ligament and the median nerve and brachial artery and veins were documented with drawings and photos . Results: The supracondylar humeral process was not found in any of the 60 dissected arms. Struthers’ ligament was identified in six arms (two bilateral); in all cases high insertion of the pronator teres muscle was observed . Conclusion: Struthers’ ligament is an aponeurotic structure that may or may not be associated with the supracondylar humeral process, and is an important potential site of median nerve compression in the lower third of the arm. Acharya Sushruta has emphasized the method and importance of dissection to study anatomy practically. Perfect knowledge of anatomy is vital for practicing surgeons and hence the training of dissecting the dead body was considered as mandatory for surgeons. Though dissection techniques may give the perception of the structure of organs, the pervading and subtle consciousness in the body can be experienced with the eyes of knowledge and penance only. Though the standard anatomy is defined based on statistical inferences on comparing large number of subjects, individual variations and exceptional structural specialties tend to occur quite frequently. Proper recording and publication of such instances would strengthen the knowledge base of the science. Knowledge regarding arterial variations of upper limb is important for surgeons and orthopedicians as they are commonly involved in invasive procedures. We report a case ofvariant origin of right common interosseous artery from brachial artery in cubital fossa. It followed a normal course after the origin.

Esophageal diverticulum with secondary bronchoesophageal fistula is a rare clinical entity that manifests as respiratory infections, coughing during eating or drinking, hemoptysis, and sometimes fatal complications. In the present study, we describe a case of bronchoesophageal fistula emanating from esophageal diverticulum in a 45-year-old man who presented with bronchiectasis. We summarize the characteristics of this rare condition based on a review of the relevant literature.

Background Isolated capitate nonunion is rare. No consensus on the appropriate treatment for this condition exists. Case Description We reported two cases of capitate fracture nonunion presenting several months after untreated high-impact wrist trauma. Treatment was delayed as both patients' nonunions were missed on conventional radiographs. Both were ultimately diagnosed with advanced imaging and successfully treated with internal fixation and autogenous bone grafting. The relevant literature pertaining to capitate nonunion was reviewed. Literature Review Immobilization and internal fixation with bone grafting for capitate nonunion have been described in the literature. Loss of vascular supply and progression to avascular necrosis is a concern after capitate nonunion. Clinical Relevance We present two cases and review the literature on the diagnosis and treatment of this rare injury to guide management. Internal fixation with autogenous bone grafting could play a role in management for this rare condition.

Aim/Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a research model derived from relevant literature to guide empirical efforts. Background: Companies struggle to innovate, which is essential for improving their performance, surviving in competition, and growing. A number of studies have discussed company innovation capability, stating that innovation capability is influenced by several variables such as cooperation and knowledge management. Therefore, further research is necessary to identify factors playing a role in enhancing innovation capability. Methodology: This study is based on systematic literature review. The stages are: (1) research scope review, (2) comprehensive online research, (3) journal quality assessment, (4) data extraction from journals, (5) journal synthesis, and (6) comprehensive report. The online research used Google Scholar database, by browsing titles, abstracts, and keywords to locate empirical research studies in peer-reviewed journals published in 2010-2020. Furthermore, 62 related articles were found, of which 38 articles were excluded from further analysis and 24 articles were selected because they were more related to the topic. Contribution: The results of this study enrich the research in the field of knowledge management, cooperation, and innovation capability by developing a conceptual framework of innovation capability. The proposed theoretical model may be fundamental in addressing the need of a research model to guide further empirical efforts. Findings: This study provides a research model derived from systematically reviewing relevant literature. The proposed theoretical model was done by incorporating the aspects of knowledge management, cooperation, and innovation capability. The model shows that knowledge management and cooperation are essential aspects of innovation capability. Furthermore, this study also provides the dimensions and sub dimensions of each variable that was established after synthesizing the literature review. Recommendations for Practitioners: Business practitioners can use the identified predictors of innovation capability and the dimensions of each variable to explore their company’s innovation capability. They can also take the relevant variables into consideration when making policies regarding innovation. Recommendation for Researchers: The theoretical model proposed in this study needs validation with further empirical investigation. Impact on Society: Readers of this paper can obtain an understanding that knowledge management and cooperation are essential aspects to consider in enhancing innovation capability. Future Research: Future studies should explore other dimensions of knowledge management and cooperation through alternative approaches and perspectives.
