The processes of globalization of international trade involve the unhindered movement of resources and goods, which is objectively impossible to carry out without maritime transport. Currently, maritime transport provides sustainable foreign economic transport and production relations between individual countries. Sea transportation occupies about 80% of the world’s cargo turnover, and this percentage increases every year. Sea transportation is the most efficient, reliable and economical way of international transportation of most goods. Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of sustainable development of maritime cargo transportation companies and includes care for the environment, labor rights and human rights, business ethics. In 2018, a strategy directed towards reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions from vessels by 2050 by at least 50% of the total volume compared to 2008 was adopted. The article proposes methods for calculating tracking indicators of the sea transport energy efficiency, basic elements of planning the energy efficiency management of the vessel are allocated. The sustainable development strategy of the Danish company Maersk, specializing in maritime freight transportation and port terminal maintenance, envisages four areas - climate change, inclusive trade, food loss and ship recycling. The Maersk’s partners are international organizations that contribute to the implementation of the UN sustainable development strategy. Since 2019 Maersk reports a 42% reduction in relative CO2 emissions compared to 2008. The company plans to jointly develop carbon dioxide fuel types and sustainable fuel solutions with energy suppliers, as well as with technology developers, researchers, investors and other transportation companies and logistics providers. Thus, Maersk is gradually demonstrating a global commitment to the ecologically sustainable logistics in line with its commitment to reducing carbon emissions across the supply chain. Maersk has taken the initiative to abandon the use of fossil fuels and has set a global goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 in the performance of all its operations.

The Truck Ro-Ro transportation in the Three-Gorge Reservoir in the Yangtze river, following its first10 years' rapid development, is facing the external competition from coastal expressway and railway freight transportation and experiencing the internal challenge of changing the shipping organization. Ro-Ro transportation enterprises should take full advantage of the macro policy of the overall scheme of Yangtze river gold waterway construction during the "1025" period, concentrate on the development of automobile Ro-Ro shipping route for Ro-Ro hanging transportation, transportation of heavy loads and dangers goods, make the transformation of transport mods in time and promote its sustainable development.

The sustainable urban development is a great venture in India. It discusses the concept importance of sustainable development mainly the sustainable urban development. Sustainable urban development and sustainable city form take the responsibility of all this and try to reduce the bad effects of climate change, depletion of non-renewable resources and degradation of the urban environment. There are three issues - which are meeting the deciencies in service, how to manage the services in an environment friendly way and the need to make them more equitable. For activities locations need to be created which can be reached 1) without moving, by walking, by cycling 2) By public transport and 3) by energy efcient cars. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN-HABITAT, the sustainable cities programme are designed to foster the planning to move cities in the developing countries toward sustainability. They organized different programme for the sustainable urban development. One idea about sustainable urban form is that density needs to be 'high'. Adensity that is suitable for USA or cities of Europe may not be feasible for already dense cities like Hong Kong and Indian cities. All these things about sustainable environment and climate change have resulted in experiments and debates over city form that is sustainable.

The development of German transportation has always been adhered to the sustainable development strategy which is dominated by eco-transportation. This paper is aimed at expounding the development situation of German ecological comprehensive transportation from the aspects of philosophy and method to transportation planning, development of ecological comprehensive transportation, passenger transportation, passenger and freight transportation hub and non-motorized transportation, etc. Combined with China's reality, this paper is also aimed at summarizing the developmental experience of German comprehensive transportation from the macro level and providing experience and reference for the development of China's comprehensive transportation.

The Truck Ro-Ro transportation in the Chuanjiang river, following its first10 years' rapid development, is facing the external competition from coastal expressway and railway freight transportation and experiencing the internal challenge of changing the shipping modes. Ro-Ro transportation enterprises should take full advantage of the macro policy of the overall scheme of Yangtze river gold waterway construction during the 10th five-year period and grasp the opportunity to make further research on the shipping modes and the scientific distribution of transport capacity of Ro-Ro ships so as to make the transformation of transport mods in time and promote its sustainable development.

The sustained and stable growth of China’s market economy promotes the continuous improvement of transportation demand and puts forward higher requirements for transportation products. At present, as a new product, high-speed rail freight has played an important role in cold chain logistics and high-value-added transportation, which is of great significance to effectively reduce the pollution caused by road transportation and further promote the sustainable development of economy and logistics industry. In the previous study, we studied the organization optimization method of high-speed rail freight train operation scheme and the compilation method of high-speed rail freight train diagram based on the overall demand of freight transportation but did not consider the influence of different high-speed rail freight transportation products on the organization scheme. Therefore, in order to ensure the sustainable development of high-speed rail freight business, based on the demand of high-speed freight products (the freight product for short in the following text), this paper focuses on the optimization method of high-speed rail freight train organization scheme considering different demands. A two-stage freight demand analysis method considering customers’ choice intention and actual supply capacity was designed, comprehensively considering the relationship between operation cost and income, and a model based on different products in order to meet the needs of large-scale case solving was established. In addition, a column generation algorithm was designed. The computational results are encouraging and demonstrate the effectiveness of the model and solution method.

Emerging cities of the 21st century are attempting to build rail transit as a key driver to maintain their city’s competitiveness and help catalyze livable and sustainable development opportunities around station areas. Indian cities are doing this in a big way with about 50 cities embracing urban metro rail transit systems. The rail projects are approved politically but need financing to build such highly capital-intensive rail transit systems. The use of value capture (VC) mechanisms is gaining momentum across cities worldwide as a solution to transit funding and financing. The first cities in India are now deploying various VC based financing mechanisms. This paper therefore aims to review the experiences of VC based innovative financing practices in selected Indian cities. The research summarizes the key issues and lessons learned from these experiences to help define the way forward. The paper finally concludes that VC prac-tices in India are still at an embryonic stage but the results are encouraging with huge untapped potential to co-create rail transit centered sustainable growth. Moreover, the review findings and lessons learned will help enhance the understanding of the challenges in emerging transit cities of developing countries.

Background: The formation of mechanisms for sustainable development of the transport system of Russia should be aimed at improving its competitiveness. Aim: Development of technical and economic foundations for improving the efficiency of the transport system of Russia, on the example of railway transport. Methods: Theoretical methods of scientific research were used to achieve the goal: analysis, synthesis and modeling. Results: The original concept of "Coincidental freight transportation" with the necessity of technical modernization of freight cars is offered. The concepts of a coincidental route and a coincidental wagon are analyzed, and application of the mathematical apparatus for economic evaluation of the results is recommended.
