The title compound [Zn2(2,3,2-tet)2(Im)] (ClO4)3 (C17H43Cl3N10O12Zn2, 2,3,2-tet = N,N′-bis(2- aminoethyl)propane-1,3-diamine, Im = imidazolate anion) consists of an imidazolate-N,N′-bridged binuclear cation and three perchlorate anions. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C 2 with a 12 . 038(8), b 12 . 245(8), c 11 . 902(3) Å, β 108 . 00(5)°, V 1668 . 6(15) Å3 . The coordination geometry at each zinc(II) centre is approximately square-pyramidal. The Zn . . . Zn separation is 6 . 114(9) Å. Cyclic voltammetry shows two irreversible cathodic waves at − 1 . 00 and − 1 . 08 V/s.c.e., which clearly indicates that coordination of the strong-field ligands provides significant stability to the zinc(II) centre in the title complex.

In the mononuclear title complex, [Co(N3)2(C12H8N4S)2], the cobalt(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and displays an axially weakly compressed octahedral coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by the N atoms of two 2,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole ligands, whereas the axial positions are occupied by N atoms of the azide anions. The thiadiazole and pyridine rings linked to the metal are almost coplanar, with a maximum deviation from the mean plane of 0.0273 (16) Å. The cohesion of the crystal is ensured by weak C—H...N hydrogen bonds and by π–π interactions between pyridine rings [intercentroid distance = 3.6356 (11) Å], forming a layered arrangement parallel to (001). The structure of the title compound is isotypic with that of the analogous nickel(II) complex [Laachiret al.(2013).Acta Cryst.E69, m351–m352].

AbstractA potassium tetranitratopalladate(II) with the composition K2[Pd(NO3)4] · 2HNO3 was synthesized by a simple solvothermal process in a glass ampoule. The new compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (no. 14) with the lattice parameters a = 1017.15(4), b = 892.94(3), c = 880.55(3) Å, and β = 98.13(1)° (Z = 2). The crystal structure of K2[Pd(NO3)4] · 2HNO3 reveals isolated complex [Pd(NO3)4]2− anions, which are surrounded by eight potassium cations and four HNO3 molecules. The complex anions and the cations are associated in layers which are separated by HNO3 molecules. K2[Pd(NO3)4] · 2HNO3 can thus be regarded as a HNO3 intercalation variant of β-K2[Pd(NO3)4]. The characterization is based on single-crystal X-ray and powder X-ray diffraction.

Single crystals of Cu(pz)Br2 and Cu(pz)Cl2 were grown by using gel methods with tetramethoxysilane as the gel-forming reagent. Thermal decomposition is interpreted. Crystal data for the bromo complex: monoclinic, space group C2/m with a = 1239.2(3) pm, b = 685.9(2) pm, c = 390.7(3) pm, β = 96,23(5)°. Crystal data for the chloro-complex: monoclinic, space group C2/m with a = 1197.1(3) pm, b = 684.9(3) pm, c = 370.1(3) pm, β = 95.96(5)°. Crystal structure analyses reveal that CuHal2 molecules are bonded by pyrazine to form linear chains. These chains are cross-linked by bridging halogen atoms.

Abstract Benzo-18 -crown-6 -Acetonitrile (1/2), Crystal Structure Single crystals of the title complex resulted fortuitously during an attempt to co-crystallise MeN(SO2Me)2 with benzo-18-crown-6 from an MeCN solution at -30 °C. The crystal structure has been determined via data collection at -100 °C (monoclinic, space group P21/n, Z = 4). The nitrile molecules are located with their me thyl groups above and below the plane of the 18-membered crown ring, the Me hydrogen atoms being rotationally disordered about the MeCN axes; C(methyl)···O(crown) distances range from 309.4(3) to 384.9(3) pm.

The preparation and solid state characterization of the bifunctional radical furan-2,5-bis(1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolyl) 2,5-[(S2N2C)OC4H2(CN2S2)] and the related monofunctional radical 2-cyanofuran-5-(1,2,3,5-dithiadiazolyl) 2,5-[(S2N2C)OC4H2(CN)] are described. The crystal structure of 2,5-[(S2N2C)OC4H2(CN2S2)] is orthorhombic, space group Pna21, and consists of interleaved arrays of dimers, for which the mean interannular [Formula: see text] contact is 3.137 Å. The crystal structure of the monofunctional radical 2,5-[(S2N2C)OC4H2(CN)] is monoclinic, space group P21/n, and consists of a ribbon-like network of dimers (mean interannular [Formula: see text] interconnected by close head-to-tail [Formula: see text] contacts. The dimer units form stacks parallel to z, with a mean interdimer [Formula: see text] separation of 3.956 Å. The similarities and differences between these two crystal structures and those of related benzene-substituted systems are discussed. Keywords: dithiadiazolyl radicals, furan-based diradicals, cyanofuran-based radicals, radical dimers, crystal structures.

The title compound, C58H64S8, has been prepared by Pd-catalysed direct C—H arylation of tetrathienonaphthalene (TTN) with 5-hexyl-2-iodothiophene and recrystallized by slow evaporation from dichloromethane. The crystal structure shows a completely planar geometry of the TTN core, crystallizing in the monoclinic space groupP21/c. The structure consists of slipped π-stacks and the interfacial distance between the mean planes of the TTN cores is 3.456 (5) Å, which is slightly larger than that of the comparable derivative of tetrathienoanthracene (TTA) with 2-hexylthiophene groups. The packing in the two structures is greatly influenced by both the aromatic core of the structure and the alkyl side chains.

The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C19H17N4O2)]ClO4·C2H3N} n , is reported and compared to similar structures in the literature. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21. The unit cell contains one complex molecule in addition to perchlorate as the counter-ion and solvent (acetonitrile). The crystal packing evinces extended chains whereby the carboxylate moiety on the 6-carboxylato-2-(pyridylmethyl)bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amine ligand bridges between two different copper centers in adjacent molecules. This packing arrangement for the title compound appears to be unique when compared to allied structures in the literature. The perchlorate anion showed signs of disorder and its oxygen atoms were modelled over two sets of partially occupied sites, the occupancy of which was competitively refined to 0.564 (12)/0.436 (12). The crystal studied was refined as a two-component inversion twin.

The crystal structure of [ Ru ( terpy )( bpy )( pz )] (PF6)2 has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods and refined to a residual of 0.046 for 1855 independent observed reflections. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P 21/a, a 16.836(7), b 10.778(5), c l9.342(5) Ǻ, β 115.11(3)°. The coordination geometry around the ruthenium(II) ion is distorted octahedral, with the various Ru -N bond lengths indicative of considerable interligand steric strain. The Ru -N pyrazine bond is the longest within the structure, consistent with other evidence that n back-bonding to pyrazine is weak in the complex.
