The 12C(0:, y) 160 cross section is calculated at stellar energies, using R-matrix parameters obtained by fitting consistently the 12C+", scattering phase shifts and the ",-spectrum from 16N f:l-decay. This limits the 12C+", channel radius to the range 5-7 fm. The S-factor at Eo< = 400 keV is calculated to lie in the range 005-0,33 MeV.b.

Abstract Radiative capture p+9Be → 10B+γ at energies bearing astrophysical importance is a key process for the spectroscopic study of 10B. In this work, we consider the radiative capture cross-section for the 9Be(p, γ)10B within the framework of the potential model and the R-matrix method for the multi-entrance channel cases. In certain cases, when the potential fails, therefore, the R-matrix approach is better to use for the description of partial components of the cross-section that have sharp or broad resonances. For all possible electric and magnetic dipole transitions, partial components of the astrophysical S-factor are computed. The computed value of the total S-factor at zero energy is consistent with the reported results.

The objective of this paper is to present the results of an evaluation of the gadolinium isotopes with the main focus on the isotopes 155Gd and 157Gd. The evaluations were carried out in the resolved resonance region using the Reich-Moore formalism. The originality on the 155Gd and 157Gd evaluations is the addition of new high-resolution capture cross section measurements performed at the neutron time-of-flight, n_TOF facility for enriched samples and the statistical analysis of the resonance parameters. The resonance analysis was performed with the multilevel R-matrix code SAMMY together with the generalized least-squares technique based on the Bayes’ theory.

The thermal neutron capture cross sections of Na23 and Mn55 have been determined using the activation method. The values are 0.53 ± 0.03 and 12.7 ± 0.3 barns respectively with respect to σAul97 = 93 barns. These agree well with recent pile oscillator results. The half-life for Mn56 is found to be 2.576 ± 0.002 hr.
