AbstractIn this study, we introduce a dual Hopf algebra in the sense of Sudbery for the quantum space(3) whose coordinates satisfy the commutation relations with two parameters and we show that the dual algebra is isomorphic to the quantum Lie algebra corresponding to the Cartan-Maurer right invariant differential forms on the quantum space(3). We also observe that the quantum Lie algebra generators are commutative as those of the undeformed Lie algebra and the deformation becomes apparent when one studies the Leibniz rules for the generators.

Abstract The quantum co-ordinate algebra Aq(g) associated to a Kac–Moody Lie algebra g forms a Hopf algebra whose comodules are direct sums of finite-dimensional irreducible Uq(g) modules. In this paper, we investigate whether an analogous result is true when q=0. We classify crystal bases as coalgebras over a comonadic functor on the category of pointed sets and encode the monoidal structure of crystals into a bicomonadic structure. In doing this, we prove that there is no coalgebra in the category of pointed sets whose comodules are equivalent to crystal bases. We then construct a bialgebra over Z whose based comodules are equivalent to crystals, which we conjecture is linked to Lusztig’s quantum group at v=∞.

Let [Formula: see text] be an automorphism and[Formula: see text] be a [Formula: see text]-skew [Formula: see text]-derivation of an [Formula: see text]-algebra [Formula: see text]. We prove that if [Formula: see text] is semiprimitive and [Formula: see text] is algebraic, then the subalgebra [Formula: see text] has nilpotent Jacobson radical. Using this result, we obtain similar relations for the Baer prime radical, the Levitzki locally nilpotent radical, and the Köthe nil radical when the field [Formula: see text] is uncountable. Then we apply it to actions of the [Formula: see text]-dimensional Taft Hopf algebra [Formula: see text] and the [Formula: see text]-analogue [Formula: see text] of the enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra [Formula: see text].

AbstractWe construct an associative product on the symmetric module S(L) of any pre-Lie algebra L. It turns S(L) into a Hopf algebra which is isomorphic to the enveloping algebra of LLie. Then we prove that in the case of rooted trees our construction gives the Grossman-Larson Hopf algebra, which is known to be the dual of the Connes-Kreimer Hopf algebra. We also show that symmetric brace algebras and pre-Lie algebras are the same. Finally, we give a similar interpretation of the Hopf algebra of planar rooted trees.

The depth of an augmented ring $\varepsilon \colon A\to k $ is the least $p$, or ∞, such that \begin {equation*} \Ext _A^p(k , A)\neq 0. \end {equation*} When $X$ is a simply connected finite type CW complex, $H_*(\Omega X;\mathbb {Q})$ is a Hopf algebra and the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra $L_X$ of primitive elements. It is known that $\depth H_*(\Omega X;\mathbb {Q}) \leq \cat X$, the Lusternik-Schnirelmann category of $X$. For any connected CW complex we construct a completion $\widehat {H}(\Omega X)$ of $H_*(\Omega X;\mathbb {Q})$ as a complete Hopf algebra with primitive sub Lie algebra $L_X$, and define $\depth X$ to be the least $p$ or ∞ such that \[ \Ext ^p_{UL_X}(\mathbb {Q}, \widehat {H}(\Omega X))\neq 0. \] Theorem: for any connected CW complex, $\depth X\leq \cat X$.

We introduce the notion of a general Hom–Lie algebra and show that any Hom-algebra in the category [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is a triangular Hom–Hopf algebra, can give rise to a general Hom–Lie algebra, which generalizes the main result in [11] to the Hom-case.

Various aspects of the de Rham cohomology of Hopf algebras are discussed. In particular, it is shown that the de Rham cohomology of an algebra with the differentiable coaction of a cosemisimple Hopf algebra with trivial 0-th cohomology group, reduces to the de Rham cohomology of (co)invariant forms. Spectral sequences are discussed and the van Est spectral sequence for Hopf algebras is introduced. A definition of Hopf–Lie algebra cohomology is also given.
