Teaching speaking gives opportunity to provide fluency practice for language learners. The students can practice to speak by role playing as one of techniques in teaching speaking. However, students with the high speaking ability are worthless without good morals. For this reason, today the teacher has responsibility towards the student’s character. Unfortunately, the character building for students cannot be taught in isolation because it is not included in language skills. Therefore, the character building should be infused to the teaching learning process. This paper addresses the issue of role play as a technique in teaching speaking and developing students’ character.

Curriculum development is important to be investigated from various perspectives. This study will discuss twofold fundamental aspect of curriculum development; the basic and the purposes of curriculum. The literarure discussion reveals that the curriculum provided by a school not only limited to unit of courses and teaching learning process but also on all process which influence the development and student character building as it is required by national education goals. There are some elements such as Philosophy, Psycology, socio-culture and technology in which they support the foundation of curriculum. The objective of curriculum can be clasified into two group; micro and macro. The earlier is more consent on the institutional and intructional objectives. Whilts the latter is intended to reconstruct and to innovate any shortcoming of previous curriculum. The curriculum development aims at addaptating between education and social change and also exploring untouch knowledge.

School is the place where younger generations are educated both intellectually and characteristically. Through schooling, students are projected to able to develop their potential so that they are capable of living independently in society and pursue higher education. To achieve this objective, students are required to establish, among others, the character of discipline and responsibility since both knowledge transfer and character building are inseparable in teaching-learning processes. During the pandemic, however, the teaching-learning process is facing a new challenge by which both teachers and students must carry the process through online courses. Alternatively, the character of discipline and responsibility can be introduced to students through procedure texts. Procedure text is a type of text whose purpose is to instruct in how to do something through a sequence of steps. Procedure text requires students to ‘get something done’ by the mean of strictly following the steps prescribed in the text. This qualification demand students performing the character of discipline and responsibility so that the goal could be achieved accordingly. Moreover, the teacher are to build the character of discipline and responsibility from an early age. Students' discipline and responsibility improvement necessitate students' awareness as well as both parents' and teachers’ guidance.

The situation of public schools in rural and urban areas is not much good, that’s why parents are giving preference to private schools for their children’s education. This study focused on the role of school management team in improving teaching practices. Apart from the reviewed literature, an empirical investigation based on a quantitative research was used to collect data from 100 private schools of district Central Karachi. The results of the study revealed that the role of school management for enhance quality teaching practice in private secondary schools of central district Karachi. From this perspective, work climate plays vital role in teacher performance. Furthermore, it is very necessary to value the teaching learning process by helping teachers regard teaching matters. Providing job related resources and facilities are the responsibility of school management. Positive relationship among teaching staff and management staff plays important role in teaching learning process.

This study reports on the planning and management of Islamic Boarding School  Daarul Abror in developing curriculum of Islamic Education Subject. This study attempts to address the following question; (1) How is the administration management at Islamic Boarding School DaarulAbror?  (2) How are the development and implementation Islamic Education Subject at Islamic Boarding School DaarulAbror? It is conducted at Islamic Boarding School Daarul Abror Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The data for the study are obtained through two instruments; The interview and observation.The interview is conducted to obtain the clarification and expanation from the boarding school. The observation is done during the interaction in the teaching learning process to observe the activities done in the school. The subject of this study is the vice-head master of the school  who has been a teacher as well as curriculum developer in the Islamic Boarding School. The finding reveal that, (1) the administration management at Islamic Boarding School Daarul Abror is conducted based on the educational institutions of the Ministri of Religious Affair and the Ministri of Education and Culture Republic Indonesia. (2) the development of and the implementation of Islamic Education subjetcs is by applying education in a classroom as well as out of classroom refering to the achievement life skill and the Islamic character building in dayly life. Based on the finding it is recommended that the stakeholders of the Islamic Boarding School should keep managing their institution to develope and applying nowdays educational system.

The mastering of character building for teaching learning history must be applied since the history teacher were learning in university. One of the mode that can be used is applying lesson study model in learning process whether in micro teaching or when the history students get teaching practice in school. There are three things that includes in teaching learning uses lesson study model, there are: plan, do, observation and see. Lesson study model is opened teaching learning process. Through good lesson study design, the history teacher candidate can be trained in having good teaher character building such as honest, discipline, care to other people, confidence, creative, overt and patient.
