PREFACE This special issue includes the proceedings of the First International Conference on Physics and Energy 2021 (ICPAE 2021), which was held during 21st April 2021 at RanBal Research Institute (RBRI) in Kancheepuram, Tamilnadu, India. ICPAE 2021 provided a platform to experts, researchers, scholars, and academicians across the globe to exhibit their recent innovative research results and the most recent trends in the diverse fields of Physics and Energy. The first edition of ICPAE 2021 was represented by many potential authors. The program comprised of three plenary and four Invited lectures and eighty oral presentations covering emerging fields of Physics and Energy. The organizing committee sincerely acknowledges the support and continuous encouragement from Shri. E. Santhanam, Smt. S. Selvambal [Patrons-RBRI], Prof. P. Anandhi [Conference Chair] and Prof. P. Kumaran [Conference Secretary], Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia. Also, the organizing committee would like to express thanks to Dr. D.S. Vijayan, Associate Professor/Dept. of Civil Engineering, Aarupadai Veedu, Paiyanoor, Chennai, India, for rendering his support to the publishing committee. We are grateful to the advisory committee and technical review committee (National/International) for their valuable suggestions and contributions in organizing the mammoth scientific event. The first edition of the ICPAE 2021 proceedings includes fifty six papers eventually accepted after a careful peer-review process accomplished on the presented articles. The organizers sincerely thank to the guest editors and all the reviewers for their great efforts in bringing out the high standard scientific publication. The organizers of the conference are indebted to the publisher of Journal of Physics: Conference Sries (IOP Publisher), for giving consent to publish these papers under the special issue category. It is my great pleasure to present to you this special issue containing selected extended papers originally presented at the International Conference on Creative and Innovative Technology Education 2018 (iCITE2018), which took place in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from July 24 to July 25, 2018. iCITE2018 received 176 abstracts. 141 Authors of accepted abstracts were invited to submit full papers. Full papers were refereed by a double-blind reviewing process. Each paper was reviewed by 2 program committee members’ experts in the relevant field ensuring the publication of top-quality contributions. The peer review process was based on the following criteria: relevance to conference themes, quality of the content, significance for theory or practice, quality of presentation or standard of writing and originality. The final programme consists of 67 contributions were presented at the conference. Of those, 10 have been accepted to be included in this issue. I would like to thank all publication committee and reviewers for their hard work and for meeting the deadlines. In most cases there has been enough time for a round or two of revisions, I am confident, therefore, that the published papers have achieved high standard in terms of both technical content and the quality of presentation.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology, India, organized an International Conference on Modeling and Simulation (CITICOMS 2007) during August 27–29, 2007. The conference covered research works on modeling & simulation in a large number of diverse disciplines viz., biotechnology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, mathematics and nanotechnology, electrical engineering, electronic engineering and computer engineering. This special issue presents a set of nine selected research papers, which have undergone the peer-review process of the journal of Chemical Product and Process Modeling. Although these papers do not cover the entire gamut of modeling and simulation activities, they certainly present interesting and useful topics. In particular these topics include the black box modeling approach for identification of nonlinear systems, kinetic modeling of the adsorptive removal of toxic and hazardous pollutants from wastewaters, analysis and modeling of homogeneous tubular reactors, monolithic catalytic converters, and a constitutive model equation for the rheological behaviour of three phase polymer blends or so called double emulsions.
